@uclabound Congrats on Duke! Which college is your first choice?
I ended up doing something like 10 applications…I should have applied to Yale and Northwestern as well, but I was paying out of my own pocket, so it was getting expensive even with only 10.
@uclabound1 Congrats on your acceptances. My friend got the Karsh International Scholarship from Duke. He’ll be coming to Duke, I guess.

@Hersheybar315 Not really sure what my first choice is at this point, but I’m leaning heavily toward UChicago and Columbia. As the wise CC member once said “Don’t fall in love with a school until you’ve been admitted”

@uclabound1 Yeah I am hoping for good news from duke:) I applied ED and got deferred. It motivated me to do as much as I could to improve my application for RD so I guess that’s good haha!

I was deferred by Yale as well.
I got a likely letter from Columbia a few weeks ago and is really hoping to get into UChicago too. However, choosing between UChicago and Columbia would be a classical and difficult decision to make. Yet my April might be spent easier if I get accepted to Princeton, Harvard, or Yale, (which is highly unlikely) my first love lol.

Well said! My deferral also motivated and inspired me a lot. I wouldn’t have improved my essays, refined my thoughts, and grew by that much if Yale simply accepted me first round.
@ProximaCentauri You should have seen my obsession with Yale back in 2014 hahahaha. Congrats on Columbia!!
Yale is now nearly impossible for me since Yale deferred almost all of the applicants from Pakistan.
So nerve wrecking tomorrow. Thank god, school won’t be too brutal. Good luck everyone. May your efforts paid off for the best.

It wasn’t good this year in China either. I think under 3 people were accepted early action, with a usual figure of about 6-8. Yeah I used to be really obsessed with Yale as well but now I truly believe that I shall be really happy at any of the other colleges I applied to.There’s probably much truth in the saying that college is what you make it : )
