UCHICAGO RD CLASS OF 2019

@minastirith‌ was your cousin a recruited athlete? (or a Nobel prize winner :smiley: )

I have a really low CR score, the only thing that badly lags behind in my application. But my gpa is 4/4 and sat 2 is 1590/1600 hate the CR >.<

So, if they expect lower scores from intl students, would a 2200+ score stand out?

I don’t think needing financial aid can be or is a part of the admission decision.

@ANerdfighter, if you’re not from far-Asian countries than yes. Internationals have a more flexible margin. My friend from Turkey got into MIT with 2170. (and not so perfect subject SATs, Turkey is actually similar in Russia in that sense not represented too much) But your Math score will matter more. What is the breakdown of your SAT scores?

She won a lot of international olympiads. The only bad thing on her application was her SAT score. @spiderwoman‌

@spiderwoman being a nobel prize winner doesn’t always help. I am a Youth Jefferson Award Winner, the US Noble Peace Prize for Community Service (founded by Jackie Kennedy) and I was still differed from EA.

Last year an international student went to Yale with 1990 SAT score as well. @spiderwoman‌

@spiderwoman I have 760 math, 740 CR and 720 Writing, and 800 Math 2, 750 French, 740 literature

@minastirith‌ Exactly! I have another Turkish friend who got into Princeton with a 2030 and 720 on Math 2 and 760 in Physics. But that makes sense- you’re assessed in your context as an International. (If you’re an Asian though you’re still required a 2400 lol…)

@minastirith‌ Are you by any chance a J-Tite? :stuck_out_tongue:

@ANerdfighter‌, your scores look really good, even for a domestic student. I hope you get in, you deserve it! Good luck today! :slight_smile:

Thanks, @spiderwoman ! I hope you get in too))

What is the lowest score u ever heard of a person getting into UChicago?

Just to be sure, the decisions will be available in our student portal, right?

Yes, @pheonixgirl you’ll get an email that your admission decision is on your account

@imrakibul96 the stats for class of 2017 Act score range 20-36 SAT 1110 -1600 but only 11.08% of admitted students that year were international. I just looked at the class of 2019 FB page and it looks like they took about 800 from the EA pool. All hope is slowly slipping away…

I applied EA and the decisions were out a while before I got an email just to give you guys a heads up!

Yeah they always send the email slightly after the decisions are released, I’m hoping they will eventually post an exact time on their website or their admissions twitter

@minastirith, you know someone who got into yale with a 1990??
