@calmlywaiting it wouldn’t really be helpful for you because my background is so different from yours. You can assume that my college grades and test scores were good but not perfect, and my life story played a big role.
Accepted: current sophomore at top 30 small liberal arts college
-College GPA: 3.67; major GPA (philosophy with concentration in legal studies): 3.91
-HS GPA (small elite private): 3.54 UW
-ECs/awards: former collegiate swimmer, freshman season was an All-American Honorable Mention (stopped swimming after that), captain of hs varsity team, awarded MVP male student-athlete at HS, swim coach/camp counselor, active journalist for online news publication, volunteer advise desk for legal services (child support & family division), volunteer for legal services at homelessness shelters, volunteer for assisted living facility, state scholar, 3x dean’s list
-LOR: know professors very very well – perks of very small college – one is philosophy professor and one is legal studies professor
-essay: based on judgement from external sources, essays were strongest part of my app

@Redacted1 Good question. I picked U of C because it was my number one school that I wanted to go to. Back in high school, I actually got waitlisted so I figure I apply again as a transfer, but it did not work out.
