I got into UCLA on mOnday and I still haven’t heard from UCSD or UCI, I’m gonna laugh if they reject me.

I’m guessing that those who were rejected with TAG either didn’t complete it, or for some reason UCI doesn’t think they’ve completed it. Most of the people who got rejected seem to be missing something essential.

I’m in the 4 year boat, so I’m pretty sure we always find out last. I’m hoping that I’ve still got a shot, though. 3.5 Bio Sci, all required prereqs done by this quarter, missing one quarter of ochem and calc to be done in the summer from recommended. Starting to get slightly worried despite encouragement from UCI’s counseling staff.

I’m bio too. 3.6-3.7 IGETC done and I’m done with bio (my school also offers transferable genetics/biochem/molecbio seq but I didn’t take it bc i had no time and it’s Junior level at UCI anyway), chem, ochem, physics, & up to linear algebra.

In addition to not having TAG, I’m hoping my app is taking so long because I have credits from an OOS school and I guess UCI has to track it down and see what would transfer. My fingers are crossed for all of us though :)))

I had my choices as:
LA (lol)
SD, which i have sort of given up on
then UCI. I actually had my schedule planned for UCI as it was originally my 1st choice.
SB
UCD

Does anyone know if they even care if I finished almost all the recommended courses on assist?

The more recommended classes you have, the better. They want you out of there ASAP because it looks like they’re a successful university when people are actually graduating in 2 years because then they can admit more people and their stats look better.

“We encourage you to continue with your studies and, if possible, consider applying for a future term. Because UC Irvine is highly selective at the transfer level, we recommend you establish a strong academic record above minimum eligibility.”

So I’m minimally eligible with a 3.4? Eff you Irvine, Who do you think you are? I didn’t want to go to your wack school anyway…

They care, but it’s not nearly as important as the required, of course. I’ve got several other upper division classes that would count toward my major like microbio, genetics, and immunology. I’ve got all of my GEs done and plenty of extra credits as I’m switching from Animal Science to bio. I’m hoping that some of this factors in, but I know it won’t help too much.

At least you know that the reason you haven’t heard is that you’re coming from a 4-year.

I’m going to cry if I don’t get in

Any biomedical engineering people here???

ReachTheEnd, are you sure that was your UC transferable GPA?

Did anybody get their SIR fee of $100 waived?

i wanna know now!

@leehana I think there’s a separate thread for admitted students. You might get an answer there.

Sigh. Anyone else still logging in every ten minutes? :\ I’m hoping there will be more decisions tonight but I doubt it a little.

I’m still checking every chance i get!
but i really have something to worry about!

@bareyes What do you mean?

For some reason I’m not as freaked out as I was a week ago … possibly because I have less than 2 days before my fate is decided. But I log in every 20 minutes or so … and basically expect to see “PENDING” …

UCI is number one for me … and my backup is CAL. I really doubt I’m going to get into CAL … even if I do I can’t stand moving!! If all else fails, I guess I can try Chapman or La Verne for spring semester. Blaaah.

Yeah, I’m sure…
