UCI chances?

Hellooo! my top school is UCI and I just wanted any feedback on my shot at getting in.

UC GPA: 3.92
10-11 Ap classes: 5 (+2 senior yr)
Ap scores: 3 on APEnglish11 (…AP tests aren’t my thing)
Old Sat: 1900
Class rank for 10-11: 59/768 (8%)
California Resident, Korean

Extracurricular/ other parts to the application include:
-Milal Class Agape (volunteer for people with mental/physical disabilities) /
this one is really my only strong activity with (+600 hours)
-Swim team (JV)- 4 years
-Summer swim camp
-Helping coach kids at youth summer swim camp
-Senior citizens’ bingo cleanup
-Summer babysitting for children with autism
-Santa Anna Homeless Outreach
-Operation Smile club
-Make-A-Wish club
-Korean School
-Praise team leader
-Some awards such as Congress & Presidential Award for community service, school honor rolls, etc.

Major: Sociology? I’m into the whole wanting to help out the community type of stuff… or maybe Psychology because of my experiences with that field in my volunteer! (+ the class is interesting)

Honestly nothing really special… I’m lacking a lot in my GPA/score but too late to regret so might as well push forward as best as i can !! Hoping that my personal statements will be alright.

Please lmk (-: THANK YOU !

Freshman admits for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 was 57%. UCI is very GPA focused and you are slightly below their 25th percentile. SAT score is within range. I would say it is probably a High Match.

GPA and test scores of middle 25%-75% students:

High School UC GPA: 3.93 - 4.22
ACT Composite Score: 25 - 32
SAT Critical Reading: 530 - 670
SAT Mathematics: 590 - 740

Your SAT is above average for UCI which is good. What may bring you down, if anything, is your GPA (UCs gravitate towards high GPAs, which are about 4.0+). Despite that, I still think you have a chance. Don’t forget to write some good essays. Make sure to apply to CCs and CSUs too for safeties.

Good luck.
