The Regent’s scholarship has a need component, so the usual amount without the need-based aid is $2500. Any amount above that indicates you have some financial need and they are giving you extra money towards your college expenses.

UCI increased the honorarium portion of the Regents Scholarship to $5000/yr (4 years) for 2019. Chancellor’s was increased to $6000 (2 years).
