@PARENTREVIEWS I only replied to users who said they were admitted and did not give any additional information in their message. That was systematically done. One reply that I gave out had an incorrect @, and it was my mistake. Since UCI acceptances are still pending and there is a lot of uncertainty when they will come and what majors’ acceptances have or have not been sent out, I think it would help everyone using this site, to know what majors people are getting into and how competitive each admitted applicant was.
Has anyone heard of any rejections? I’ve only seen acceptances and waitlist which worries me.
Yes my daughter’s friends were rejected for Biology and another for Psychology on the first day they came out, Friday. It seems like in each wave there are all outcomes.

My D is waiting to hear for Art (art undeclared 2nd choice). Nothing yet. Not her top school choice by any means & a bit of a reach for her - 4.14 goa & 1320 SAT, but it’d be nice to know either way.

Got my admission on Friday for Business Administration! Just wanted to give a shout of encouragement to all those who are waiting

GPA: 4.03

do you think UCI mainly focuses on gpa? my gpa isn’t the greatest (around 3.65) but i did get a 1320 on my SAT. i did some extracurriculars that i put in my essay too- would there still be a chance for me even though my gpa isn’t the best?
Daughter waitlisted for Bio (received decision on Friday). 4.3 GPA, 34 ACT, 1470 SAT (in-state)
@rachwang Honestly for UCI I think that they really do look at your application as a whole and try to find the person behind it. My unweighted GPA was a 3.76 which isn’t super high either but it’s because I challenged myself with AP’s and made up for it through extracurriculars. I know seeing everyone’s stats can be overwhelming I felt the same seeing that mine weren’t as exceptionally high as everyone else. I definitely think that as long as you were honest and open in the essays and show them who you are (kinda hard in 250 words haha) that you have a good shot of getting in :).

@Coolbeanzlol I really appreciate the positive attitude among all the chaos. I have been on edge the past few days since UCI is my dream school, and it’d mean the world to me if I got accepted. I am rather low status for an applicant at a school like UCI yet I still want to hope for the best!
I checked with a UC Irvine counselor, and she said you’ll receive an email when a decision has been posted. She couldn’t tell me a specific time when the next wave is released. Have the recent applicants received an email prior to their admission?
My friends got accepted Friday and they did receive an email just prior (~5PM Friday), stating that their portal had been updated, before they saw their actual acceptances in the portal.
