UCI CS (CHP) vs UCSD CS

Hey Everyone,

I was fortunate enough to be admitted as a CS major at UCI in the Campuswide Honors Program and UCSD CS.

I visited both during the weekend and I like both campuses pretty much equally but UCI has the edge there. UCI is 15 miles away while SD is about 50 miles away. I would live on campus at both.

I intend to go to graduate school afterward. Costs of both are about the same.

UCI:

  1. Better Campus and Dorms
  2. Honors Program gives me priority registration and 4 year housing guarantee
  3. School of Computer Science is separated from school of engineering
  4. Classes are bigger and program has more students
  5. Close to home

UCSD:
1: More rigorous program
2. Smaller class sizes
3. Farther from home - something new
4. More friends from high school going
