<p>i think a lot of you are confused with what TAG is. TAG is merely completing IGETC with a 3.0 or better. it only constitutes of two english courses, a math course (the lowest of which is like… algebra 2 or something; if not, then it’s precalculus or something equivalent). you don’t need to fulfill the major pre-reqs although it’s advised you do.</p>
<p>there is a list of IGETC courses you need to take to fulfill it. All in all, it’s only about ~12 classes, having 60 units prior to transfer, and completing the math and english requirements a year before transferring. </p>
<p>if you’re in any math higher than pre-calc, it doesn’t affect TAG at all.</p>

ECs: worked two jobs while taking 19 semester units, sports, internship in taiwan (this semester. i finished early because i had 20 units from APs)

<p>I think that should be amended to read “If you’re in any math higher than the lowest one you completed the IGETC Math requirement with, it doesn’t affect TAG at all.” I completed my math requirement with Calc I, many moons ago. I suspect many sci/eng/math majors have done the same thing.</p>

<p>@fenris- you definitely have to fill out an application/contract with your CCC counselor and have it approved by the campus(es) to be a TAG applicant. 3.0 + IGETC does not mean automatic acceptance by any UC campus (besides Merced) unless you have done so. you And your level of math doesn’t matter at all. You can’t satisfy your math requirement of IGETC by getting a D or an F in Calc. If you already passed a math class, than a D in Calc would still invalidate your agreement to maintain a 3.0/no fails, but wouldn’t be as bad. Likewise, if Calc is a prereq and you failed it you’re probably ****ed. In all 3 scenarios, you break your TAG agreement.</p>

<p>So yes, your level of math does matter 
if you are not familiar with the courses listed underneath with my school’s link, the math courses listed under the math section include MATH A160 which i believe is trigonometry, meaning that the math requirement is actually very low. Most people will have this covered and yes, you do need a C or higher. You can satisfy the math requirement with a D or F in Calc provided you already passed Trigonometry or Pre-Calculus (A160, and A170, respectively) Calculus is A180.</p>
