I'm still having a hard time deciding where I want to go.

What are the clubs like? Are there cliques in the school? Or does everyone seem to know each other?
Is living on campus easier than commuting? How fun/practical is it to live on campus?

How big do the classes really get? Specifically for Bio majors
How often do professors teach?

Is the competition difficult if I want to go to med-school?

Deciding on a college is frustrating :/

There’s many clubs… I’m in a small 20 person one just for fun. Fun people.
I cliqued in fast, depends on what type of person you are.
Living on campus is easier but I know a person who has a 3.9 and commutes from Cerritos.
Living on campus is fun and practical!

Classes get as big as 400 people
Professors teach 2-3 times a week.

Competition is the same everywhere you go. Med-school is unsympathetic to where you go. Basically they have 100-200 seats to fill in their school of medicine and you have to appease them with the amount of science you know. Science is the same where-ever you go, you cannot change the fact that DNA -> RNA -> proteins. There are PLENTY of qualified applicants in CA. Good luck.

In UCI:
There are over 200 clubs to choose. Yea its overwhelming what to do but I’d suggest sticking to your academcs first on your first year. Dorming is a lesser hassle than commuting (waking up really early to get ready and dress up and traffic and parking and all…) If you meet people from norcal, talk to them more often since some socal may go stick to their friends from high school.
Yes there are a lot of race cliques, lots of indians, hispanics, whites, blacks, and koreans. But do make your self out and you will make friends.
Classes range from having 20 to 400 students. For freshman bio classes its about 350 per lecture hall for a class. Professors teach either MWF (1 hour), MW or TTH (1hour and 20 minutes) , or just one day per week (3 hours).

As for Med school, I would say its tough and I’m glad I stayed out of it. Bio and chem classes are competitive so you have to study hard.
