Says “You may be considered for priority funding”
Has anyone gotten an email about sending transcripts? I got one last week and dropped off my transcripts that same day at the admissions office at UCI.
@bighair1996 I didn’t. Are you local? What is the program you applied for?
@bighair1996 I didn’t get that either. Do they randomly select applicants for review?
Sometimes they request unofficial transcripts. Reasons unknown and it doesn’t seem to mean much. Sometimes 4.0s get it - perhaps contemplating scholarships? Who knows.
I live in north orange county and I applied to the Literary Journalism program.
The email said: “We have received your University of California Undergraduate Application for Admission and Scholarships. Thank you for your interest in our campus. We are in the process of reviewing your application. Before we can complete our review and reach an admission decision, we need the following information from you: Please send a transcript to verify all courses taken at [my school.] We must receive this information within five days of this message date, or processing of your application may be delayed or canceled.”
So I hand delivered my transcripts that same day just to be safe. Hopefully it’s a good sign?
Sounds like it! I have a 3.96 but I didn’t get it. Do you have a 4.0?
no I have a 3.5 lol so I don’t understand why they asked me for transcripts.
@jeetusSwo @bighair1996 just curious to know. What community college are you guys transferring from? I come from Los Angeles Valley College
@C105213 Currently at De Anza
@jeetusSwo @C105213 I come from Fullerton College!
@Gumbymom is there such thing as getting rejected due to too many units?
I took 2 years of college at a foreign 4-year institution before moving to the US. (Probably about 100 something Trimester units) but I’m pretty sure not all of them would transfer since some of them are Filipino classes.
Upon arriving here, I took 64 semester units ata Community College.
Also I was pursuing a different degree in the Philippines than what I was pursuing here in the US.
@adreezybones: Yes, it is possible to be rejected for having too many units for transfer. UCI will accept some Junior level and Senior level High unit transfers but not all. High Unit transfers are 135 quarter units/90 semester units or more.
First, are all these units UC transferable?
Are they all lower division units or do you have some upper division units also?
-Lower division units beyond the maximum of 70 semester/90 quarter units for which credit is awarded will be granted subject credit and may be used to satisfy requirements.
-Units earned through AP, IB, and/or A-Level examinations are not included in the limitation and do not put applicants at risk of being denied admissions.
- Lower or upper division units earned at UC (Extension, summer, cross/concurrent, UC-EAP, and regular academic year enrollment) are added to the maximum lower division credit allowed and might put applicants at risk of being denied admission due to excessive units.
Each UC campus has different policies on if they accept High Unit transfers so much will depend upon how many are UC transferable and if you have any upper division units.
@Gumbymom Honestly, I don’t think a lot of them would be UC Transferrable since some of those are nationally-mandated community service class, Filipino classes, Philippine Literature, a class about pur national hero, physical fitness, dance and sport which are quite unrelated to my major which is Art.
Most of those classes are GE classes, some lower division art classes and maybe a few upper division classes. But I took Industrial Design in the Philippines, while I’m taking up Art here in the US.
Thanks for your prompt response!
Anybody know when TAG hears back with decisions?
@taki123 based on the threads for the past two years, it seems like TAG + H2H/Regents hears back near March 20th and the rest within the first two weeks of April.
Major: HIstory
Major Pre-Reqs: done
IGETC: completed (in spring)
Tag: no
GPA: 4.0
Also Applying: UCLA, UCB, USC
eC: member of Honors program, full-time worker, major related-volunteering
Just received a “We need a translated copy of your transcripts” email from UC. It’s kinda weird since my transcript is mainly in english except for 2 Filipino Language classes.
Did anyone get into UCI today? I know they’re sending out admissions beginning March 1st through the 31st so I was wondering if anyone had heard anything today.
@hwalters6 I think only Freshman Applicants are set to receive admission decisions this month.
