Does anybody know how much aid UCI might give students? On the portal, it says that the financial aid packages won’t be prepared until mid-May, but the deadline for SIR to a CSU is May 1 and I’m concerned about the money.
Although CSU’s don’t give much aid in general, is it really more likely that UCI will be more assistful to us?
@IBkidonthestreet Well if you are considered low income and if you and your parents make less than 80k combined you will qualify for Blue and Gold which means tuition and fees are covered. Now you may even qualify for the health grant which gives you free health insurance through the UC system. The only thing to come out of pocket would be for room/board depending on what you choose
@IBkidonthestreet not sure but I ran into one incoming freshman at CSULB on some online forum who had the same dilemma. Her situation was, LB gave her nothing (except student loans) but UCD fully covered her tuition (aside from loans) it was called a university grant that she got and since UCD is in the same tier as UCI I assume it will be similar if not the same.
I’m kind of hoping that should I get into UCI, I would get the same financial help since I literally got bricks from CSULB and CSUF.
Calm down, you guys. If you did TAG or H2H then you should be hearing back well before April 20th since that’s UCI’s general admit day where TAG admits and H2H admits are individually invited to separate info sessions. I was admitted under TAG and H2H, so I was asked to RSVP for both sessions (H2H at 9am and TAG at 10am). Also, TRANSFER admit day is May 3rd.
Completely freaking out right now.

@Calbear1998 and @ eager1beaver No, I know I was just saying no non-tags have heard back unless they were honors to honors… because one of you had said a few non-tags were hearing back
@kristinpete A few non tags have heard back in this thread who were not honors to honors. I have been following this thread since the first few acceptances… My friend who goes to my cc was accepted non tag with a 3.6 gpa. So yeah, some non tags have heard back. It’s on a rolling basis.
@kristinpete If you scroll back to idk what page but back to the first batch of acceptances you will see. Some people who got accepted didn’t even know what h2h was nor was in it (a majority was i know), but still got accepted non-tag. H2H does not count for business administration at uci btw which UCI does not allow for tag, h2h does not guarantee admission for bus admin either. I remember seeing two users who were accepted for this major. The UCI rep at my cc and my honors program coordinator articulated this. So yes, some people have been admitted without tag or h2h, which shouldn’t be a big deal because it doesn’t mean anyone has been rejected, just that the second batch hasn’t come out yet which was also stated on the official UCI transfers admissions page on Instagram. Non-tag & H2H are still coming out in waves.
@haasbear oh my honors program coordinator said the same about uci bus admin… TAG IS NOT ALLOWED. H2H doesn’t secure anything… It’s a really low acceptance rate. I think the dude was named Kon something that got in btw
@haasbear It begins at page 36. Literally everyone accepted on here was TAG or Honors/Reagents. A couple people on here, however, have said that people they know outside of college confidential made it in without TAG or Honors.

Admitted
Major: Business Administration
GPA: 3.8
IGETC: Done by spring
Pre-req: Done by spring
Not sure if through Honors to Honors or not
This admit is NON TAG.
People who receive honors to honors and anyone who has completed the honors program with a 3.7+ get the h2h invite.
Some people with a 4.0 GPA (who obviously qualify for h2h) and who has completed the honors program haven’t gotten in yet. So yeah non tags have gotten in, even for a competitive major like bus admin. Congrats Kon btw!
BUS ADMIN DOES NOT ALLOW TAG & H2H doesn’t guarantee admission for a competitive major like bus admin. LOOK. IT. UP.
@kristinpete I said “non-tags btw have gotten in” I never said anything about h2h or regents in my post you replied to.
Plus I’m not a regular applicant for UCI admissions. I’m in the honors program at my cc. I have completed the program with 4.0. I am an h2h applicant and haven’t heard back, so that is why I am a little worried thats all. However, I’m glad another batch is coming out! Hopefully it’s good news for all of us that are still waiting to hear back
