@makaveli96 Same. I got C in Calc II as well. We can only prey they show us mercy.
I’m also tag Cs
I got a C in linear algebra and diff eqs. Do you know if that will effect my tag? I saw that it was only listed under additional classes but idk if the grade restrictions apply to it.
GPA: 3.9+
TAG: CS
Status: Waiting
GPA: 3.91
TAG: CS
Status: Waiting
GPA 4.0, CS major. Still waiting
4.0 Cs major, non tag waiting
Biology
GPA: 3.65
Upward 4.0 GPA trend since winter 18, Fall 17 killed GPA, if that even matters haha
Non-Tag,
I have taken two courses right now in my CC (I admit to UCI Computer Science).
One course is Physics one course is Calculus.
Now, I have to withdrawal physics course for some reason.
So, I called to UCI two times about my situation.
The problem is both admissions say a different thing.
One admission says that it will not hurt anything about my admission condition, and it will be fine. She says that it’s ok to withdrawal the physics course. (I got her name and position)
Other admission says that she doesn’t know how it will change, and also she says that admission counselor will give you a message back (I sent the message yesterday about my situation) So, she refuses to give any advice nor direction of what should I do.
Now the withdrawal deadline is today, I really don’t know what should I do about this.
What should I do? Should I call to UCI again to here other admissions’ opinion?
BTW the physics course is
- Not related to the Major (Computer Science) of UCI
- I already finish IGETCS without this course
- Already have more than 60-semester units (currently 73)
@HelloUC2 I say drop the physics course since the computer science curriculum doesn’t require it. Now if you haven’t taken a science course with a lab then that would be a problem. It would be weird if they penalize you for not completing a non required course for the major.
@HelloUC2 I agree with @makaveli96 I would also email application support to note the changes so there is a paper trail of the change. You can find the email information on your UC Application page where you would have normally gone to to do a update. This way it will be in your file and go to any UC school you applied for. Best of luck!
So I know this question is kind of late in the game since the first TAG acceptances were more than a week ago, but has anyone else who did NOT actively do anything for H2H (because they either weren’t aware it existed and/or their CC doesn’t have it) also NOT get the Regents scholarship or admission into UCI’s honors program, despite fulfilling the requirements listed for the latter? As a TAG applicant who was admitted, I got neither Regents nor admission into the UCI honors program despite having completed the Honors program at my CCC with a 4.0 GPA.
A few pages back someone said these were the only two requirements for admission into the program. I would understand not getting Regents since that’s based on the general application for admission, but I’m kind of confused as to why I didn’t at least get into the honors program if I fulfilled the requirements for it.
@HelloUC2 I was in the exact same position as you. I dropped Physics in late January and updated my TAU. Still got accepted through TAG because physics is neither a major prep or a requirement. I was also above the unit req so it didn’t matter.
I got an email from UCI regarding an application status update at 6pm just saw Bc I’m still at work rn so scared to open!
I’ll open it for you. Just kidding of course! I hope it’s good news for you buddy. @CalBear1998
@CalBear1998 by any chance are you a tag applicant or h2h?
@CalBear1998 are u a nonTAG applicant? I’m so anxious because I haven’t gotten any updates yet
I’m non tag and idk if I’m h2h but I applied w/ a 4.0
@CalBear1998 did you take honors classes?
So what was the status update???
I took 4 honors classes and 1 in progress rn. I’m going to open it at home with my family! Gonna drive home rn I’ll let you guys know what happens… I’m scared cause if I was h2h why didn’t I get it in the first wave ?
