UCI needs to reject 13,000 applicants. Rejection pile is piling up
@cloud7 how do they know who to nominate? does that mean i would have had to let them know i am applying for UCs? not sure if i would have qualified from one of the CC i am transferring out of since i had a 4.0 there but i never really knew about the h2h or tag or such
@jjang25 I was accepted 3 days ago for bus admin and you are automatically considered for honors if you are taking honors classes at your community college, indicate you are part of the honors program on your app somewhere, and have a 3.7 gpa. I was never nominated by my cc honors coordinator, but I got admitted w/ honors and regents at uci.
@surefineitsok I agree, at this point i’m seriously considering just going to CSUF, at least I won’t be 20k in debt after two years lol
@liberalhippie I don’t think i got any financial aid notification w my acceptance but yeah like I got admitted directly as chemistry and I didn’t apply as STEM to any other school. I kinda wanted to go in as STEM but felt like my GPA wasn’t great. I definitely wanted to do CSU Long Beach but I applied as the wrong major. Should’ve applied as something that I fulfilled all the requirements for
@C105213 @cloud7 the rep that i talked to did not clarify. But she said basically said just cos I was H2H doesnt change the fact that their admission notif is rolling and i should wait until end of april. Not sure if its good or bad news
Edit: also called UCI CHP about it and they just said they’ll contact me through email if theres anything wrong with my honors certification or I could call back in 2-3 days
Why are we still waiting? I thought the decisions will be out sometime this week if not beginning next week.
@sagaciousforever Cuz UCI is lazy
Because apparently they got “a record number of applications received” this year
@adreezybones That’s not a legitimate excuse. Every year, they can claim it’s getting more competitive and “we have received the highest number of applicants in history”.
Hope it comes out this week.
This happened in hs where if you were last to find out you were basically rejected… the other person got in for bus admin 3 days ago, not part of the first wave. Uci is pretty much done we probably didn’t make the cut for bus admin
Has anyone gotten their financial aid award/package letter yet for those who were accepted?
NO, accepted on 4/2…portal says it will be ready by early-may last time i checked
Anyone who wants to calculate it for UCI, can use this link to predict your package.
https://www.ofas.uci.edu/content/calculator.aspx
I was accepted 4/12 and i’m going to just wait until may for the package.
honestly i don’t mind waiting just as long as it comes before the 31st. nothing i can do about it so why stress lol it’ll come eventually
well ppl who debating btw CSU will have a hard at time as UCI is giving the package in early may…
@AeroDE I’ll have to SIR to CSULB and be at risk of having to give that up for nothing should UCI offer a much better financial aid package.
@adreezybones RIP… not sure but I had heard you can sir a CSU before deadline and if you decide to go to UC, you can call administration to cancel that SIR
@AeroDE are we looking inside the financial aid award box or the net price box? I’m confused.
@C105213 actually
Net price box shows the cost of attendance minus any grants and scholarships for which the student may be eligible. So this shows how much money you will need to pay for college after grants and stuff. I think they allow students to take loans for that or a part-time job or something.
Estimated Financial Aid-> under Grants shows how much grants and scholarships you are eligible to receive
