Got admitted yesterday. Would like to share my stuff and hopefully it’ll help.
CCC (OCC) transfer
Major: Biological Science
GPA: 3.3
IGETC: Finished last semester
Pre-reqs: All done
EC: Worked part time, became a board officer in various of clubs at CC including an honor’s society.
Admitted: UCR
Waiting: UCSB, UCSD
I feel as though the essay contributed a bit to it as well; it’s mostly about early childhood struggles and a depressive episode that hit me during one of my semesters which resulted in some poor grades in some of my classes as well as dropping some. My last semester ended pretty strongly which I would think look good on my transcript.
I took calc 1 three times with finally having to end it with a B. I got Cs on two of my major bio classes. Ended Ochem A and B with B’s with labs being A’s.
I doubted myself as well, but got extremely lucky with the admission to my dream school. I hope everyone that wants to get into UCI get their admissions as well. Best of luck!
Edit: Forgot to include that I did not start on my physics series, and I have completed up to Calc 1 and Stats for my pre-reqs.

Hi guys. I have a question. I had to drop a course for which I’m 100% it is not a prerequisite or any kind of requirement at all considering it was an elective offered at my school. Unfortunately I was unable to update my TAU due to the fact that I dropped it a couple of days after the TAU was available online. Would me dropping this one course jeopardize my admission decision? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. Im right now extremely paranoid.
@Collegegirlie7 that is for freshman’s. Transfer students have their separate open house which is May 3.
@RagnarBasakar send a direct message to an admission counselor through your portal and let them know. You can also send that information you to UC application center through their email. You can find their email right before you log in your UC application
@RagnarBasakar Go to the portal and click on the message center area and click compose new message. It gives the option of giving a course change. If its not major related then I think you should be fine.
@RagnarBasakar If you haven’t gotten your decision yet, I say just wait until you get it before sending that update

@RagnarBasakar You’re not screwed but you wont know how it effected your admission decision. Lets say you get denied (hopefully not) was it because of that course change or was it because of your stats. You won’t know that. I’m not sure if they are still reading applications or if everything’s ready to go and they have to just send it out. If your application has already been looked over I doubt they would go back and change anything over this. Good Luck!

I was checking both my portal and this thread religiously (but never posted here.) Seeing everyone’s GPA I for sure thought i had no chance but I got my acceptance yesterday at 4pm
