UCI PSB vs. Psychology (Cognitive Sciences)

I’m currently a psych major at a CC, and I’m planning to transfer for fall 2016. Which UCI psychology major, Psychology and Social Behavior, or Psychology (cognitive sciences) might be better for me? I’m thinking about going into therapy or educational psychology. I’ve researched on the website and I know one is more research and cognitive based and that PSB is more humanistic. I’m torn between the two because I do enjoy both. Which do you think might be the better major to take? I need to know so I can make sure to meet the transfer requirements for either major. Thanks!

Why not apply to both (maybe even TAG one) and go from there? Have you visited both campuses and departments?

I’d be concerned if you only aim for one school, i.e putting your eggs in a singular basket. Are the requirements really that different between the two schools?

You really need to pick the one you think you will enjoy. In terms of career I don’t think it’s going to make much difference. If you think you will be more on- on-one with ppl than maybe the humanistic one. But if you think you might somehow apply it more to business (tech or marketing) maybe cog sci. If you’re gonna split hairs, cog sci is the current buzzword and is being applied to artificial intelligence.
