UCI rescinding?

Ok i know u need a 3.0 Weighted gpa...however i recieved a "D" in my Regular Language Arts class and i can retake the course before i graduate, however i only want to do it if its truly necessary. You think they will rescind me for that?

AP Bio- B
Spanish 3- B
AP Government- C
AP Cal AB- C
AP phyiscs C- C
Language Arts- D

UHOH you might be a little screwed.
Let me be the first to say
call the admissions office, thats the first thing you should do. notify them

Retake it and notify them of it.

do u guys go by quarters or semesters, cuz my third quarter just ended and i had a D in AP Calc, but im going to bring it up during 4th quarter so it will average out...

It doesn't matter if you got a D for the quarter if your school is on the semester system.

ok....i just sent my low grade report to them for 1st semester. dang im screwed. can anyone offer words to help calm my nerves?

I heard that most of the time they just require you to take it again over the summer if you have an acceptable reason.

damn, it seems you slacked off quite a bit.

3 C's and 1 D. :(

You forgot that UCI awards +1 for honors/AP/IB classes.

AP Bio- A
Spanish 3- B
AP Government- B
AP Cal AB- B
AP phyiscs C- B
Language Arts- D

One D.

Yeah, just notify them about the D.

so if i got a d on APCalc then i wouldnt be rescinded?

also, can WPM_Jon, can u send me a link where u got that info?

You might get rescinded with a D. The freshman contract says no D's or your admission is subject to cancellation.

there's no automatic cancellation, i think. you have to let them know as soon as possible.

this might help

can anyone share their experiences?

There is no weighting for a D grade in an AP class. Only C's go to B's and B's go to A's. If you have a D in an AP class it is the same as having a D in a regular class. Notify them right away and plan on retaking the class.

What about "pasS" grades?

Is that a quarter D or a semester D? If it is a quarter D and only semester grades show up on your official transcript, then get that D up to a C! If it is a Semester D in LA then you might have a problems as 4 years of English are required for UC a-g requirements. God luck in either case.
