UCI -> UChi, USC, Stanford, Harvard

Hey, so I've posted up here a while before, but now I have some solid numbers to work with, so here they are:

High School Stats:
3.2 UW w/ a total of 10ish AP classes taken
2017 SAT I , 800/730/630 Math II/US History/Biology SAT IIs

College Stats:
DNA TO ORGANISMS BIO SCI 93: A
SAFETY AND ETHICS BIO SCI 194S: Pass
HUMANITIES CORE LEC HUMAN 1A: A
HUMANITIES CORE WRT HUMAN 1A: A-
GENERAL CHEMISTRY CHEM 1A: A+
Which gives me a 3.93 , and i made dean's list, which probably means nothing to the schools im applying to, but w/e. I am very confident that I would be able to maintain this GPA or higher next quarter, since my classes are essentially a continuation of this

College ECs: Quiz Bowl, Have been working in a lab that studies the period of Late Life in organisms, with focus on Drosiphila (Getting Credit for it next quarter)

High School ECs: Debate Team (co-captain), Academic Superbowl, Freshman Mentor, Volunteer work

Awards: 12+ Debate Meet awards, Debate State Quarterfinalist, AP Scholar w/ Distinction, Science Olympiad, etc.

I'm applying to UChi, USC, Stanford, and Harvard. I'm fairly confident I can secure good recommendations from my professors (though I'm not all that chummy w/ them, they know me tho), and my essays will be good (not being arrogant, just saying). It goes without saying that Stanford and Harvard will be ridiculous reaches, but I'm hoping to impress upon them that I kinda got the kick in the ass I needed to start working in school, and would probably discuss this in one of my essays (if given the opportunity). This is essentially my final list for transfer, and I would welcome what you guys think, or if you have any suggestions in general. Thanks a lot!

hey! your college GPA will definitely help you. Your HS GPA and scores could be stronger though, especially for the standards of Stanford and Harvard.

yea that hs gpa is my weak point by far. anyone else?

What was your SAT without writing?

1390ish, not that good

worth retaking you think?

i dont understand why you wanna leave so soon. I assume this is your first semester since i couldnt find how many units you have.... If you knew you were going to transfer, why did u accept uci's offer! you should have just gone to a CC!

haha long long reason, but in a nutshell, just want a more intellectual atmosphere (aka more nerds)

UCI is pretty nerdy to be honest lol

not enough for me :P bump

bump again

bump (10 chars)

haha bumping this thread again...I'm going to apply to WashU, how do my chances look?

Are you applying for sophomore or junior standing?

If it's sophomore, your high school grades will make it a challenge. If it's junior, I'd say you have a chance.

well, if he's only got 5 or so classes, it's likely that it's his first semester...in which case laneb is correct; your high school GPA will keep you out of Stanford and Harvard. Chicago is also less likely. USC is possible.

Of course, your chances would be much better at all of these schools if you stayed at your school for another year and maintained a good GPA, but it's not like it isn't worth applying now for the hell of it.

I agree with laneb2005 & brand_182...stay for one more year

btw..what major?

I'm a Bio major and yeah I guess I could stay for another year, but I'm gonna apply anyways. I"ve kinda tweaked my list tho, and common sense ( as well as the advice u guys have given me :P ) has made me drop Stanford and Harvard, but now it's UChi, WashU, Penn, and Columbia. I'm especially interested in WashU, how do my chances look for soph standing?
