Hey everyone. basically right now, ive been rejected from ucla, ucsd. ive gotten into ucr and ucsb. im waiting for uc berkeley and uci.

at the moment, im really deciding between sb and uci (if i get in). im also considering or going to appeal to ucsd and hopefully there might be a reversal in their decision.

i just wanted to know what each school is like in terms of the city, atmosphere, things to do, basically what is different and similar about each college so i can have a easier time choosing which college to attend.

just fyi, i also am considering sort of going to a jc or cc and transferring but im really not for it.

You've already heard from UCLA? Interesting...cause I thought decisions wouldn't be released until next week...

Between UCSB and UCI it depends on what you want. If you have to decide between the two these are my observations:

In my opinion, UCI has a more commuter school feel, while UCSB does not. Both schools will provide you a fantastic education, but UCSB will have more distractions (beach, parties, etc.)

UCSB also has a slightly better reputation than UCI, especially in the sciences. UCSB's physics and chemical engineering departments are some notable programs.

Try and visit and see which campus you "click" with.

If you have your heart set on UCLA, Berkeley or USC, I strongly recommend going to a JC for two years. Ace your classes and decide on a major. It will save you money as well.

Good luck!
