Uci waitlist discussion thread class of 2024

@itchycookiegirl Were you checking on mobile? It only happened to me on mobile browser, never on desktop

@mohsam it happened on desktop

So at this point, is the general consensus that most people received the financial aid requests? Lowkey worried now

@sprinkledoom I believe if you were eligible for aid, you received the requests. And that goes for the majority

I was eligible for aid and didn’t receive requests :frowning:

Has anyone gotten admission into psych? I haven’t seen anyone on this thread or reddit saying they got admission into psychology. I was just wondering if people have gotten in and have just not said anything.

@pupilofpsych I’m pretty sure they’re releasing decisions by school, but I could be wrong. ICS majors haven’t heard back yet either ):

@elizabeth1246 Hmm, I believe it shouldn’t be eligibility then. I’m having a feeling it was a glitch in their system where a large handful got financial documents requested

The financial aid packages/document requests don’t mean anything. I looked at the 2018 waitlist thread and a bunch of people on the waitlist were requested documents. Many of them did not end up getting accepted. I think they send out the requests to everyone so its easier to request/process paperwork for the students that end up getting an offer. They wouldn’t have to individually request documents.

@futureanteater97 what about people who didn’t have the documents requested? do you know if anyone got in without having the forms requested?

@vathesx I think those who did not have documents requested meant that their FAFSA included all the of required info (parent/student tax and dependent forms). Some students don’t have their IRS statements linked to their FAFSA and thats why UCI will ask for those forms separately. All in all, forms or lack of forms isn’t an indication of admission. The financial aid office operates completely separately from admissions :frowning:

Yah, just like @futureanteater97 said, when I emailed them, they said that the financial office and admissions office are not coordinated.

I did send in the documents anyway as requested. Do you guys think it’ll all be discarded if I were to be denied?

hi everyone, I have been keeping up with this page for a while. I’m not on the waitlist but I appealed after I was rejected on March 24th.
Prior to getting rejected, my portal had all of my information, such as full name and uc app id.
When I got rejected, my portal changed. It no longer had that personal info, just a Status Update (my rejection letter) and the option to submit my appeal/appeal FAQs.
After I submitted my appeal, my portal just Status update, Appeal Summary, and FAQs - no personal information.
NOW my portal has changed with my personal info on top (name / uc app id).
Did anyone else get this?

Anyone expecting a wave today?

Hi guys, my financial aid portal used to indicate my housing plans as: “Off Campus Apartment”, but now its indicating it as “On Campus Residence Hall”, also my portal has two updated documents that are both received, does this have any significance?

@KingVG7 I don’t think the documents being received means anything because that just means the computer processed it but its under-review. The change in housing status is interesting though!

Some people on the UCI appeal discussion are talking about a new tab appearing called personal information. Mine does not show this, anyone else as a Waitlist applicant see this tab.

Nope @sprinkledoom

What does the personal information tab have? I don’t see anything new on my page.

We all only have the “Home” tab, right?
