On the waitlist update form, it says - “To place your name on the waitlist, accept your waitlist offer below and submit the Statement of Intent to Participate form. Notification of UCI waitlist decisions will be sent between the months of April and July.”
So, there is still hope for the waitlisted people till we get a rejection letter.
@skyispreety I haven’t gotten my aid package yet. They received my documents the day after I got in, but they’ve been under review since then.
Have completely given hope on this waitlist… literally no ICS admits so far

Any hope that some decisions may come out today? When I called UCI, they said that all waitlist applicants should be notified by JULY 1!! He also told me that they rank people, and they use that (of course we can not know where we stand on this list)…

I understand these are unprecedented times so it’s fair its taking so long, hopefully we get an update soon and hopefully for the schools that have not sent any yet

Yah that’s what he told me, but then again he also told me that they don’t take off people based on major (even though every time a wave comes they are usually people with the same majors)…
@sprinkledoom from what I understand, they admit people by school, which is why people with similar majors get in at the same time.
I’m assuming that they pull the first person off the waitlist every time there’s space and if the major is impacted they get thrown into Undeclared.
If they rank people then how have I not gotten in yet, since my stats are around 75th percentile or above for admit students, and I have strong ECs and I had strong essays with help from other ppl edit too. This is stupid
if it’s not based on major then how have no ICS students gotten off. I’m CS and I haven’t seen a single CS major get off

Honestly just hang in there and wait, a lot of my friends in previous years only heard back from the UCI waitlist mid to late June, and this year it could be later than that too.
Were the financial aid docs always due June 16? I could’ve sworn they were due earlier
