<p>@uvminhcire i did (bio sciences), but a previous post stated that the waitlist does not consider majors…</p>
<p>I’ve been aware of that, I was just wondering </p>
<p>My son is also accepted from waitlist but his major shows undeclared/undecided. He applied for Computer Engineering so not sure what is it mean or how difficult to get in to Computer Engineering. He also got accepted at UCSB (Computer Engineering), but his 1st choice was UCI. How difficult to get in to computer engineering from undecided or it’s not worth the risk and go to UCSB. Any suggestion or past experience will really be helpful.</p>
<p>We are also waiting for UCD, UCLA, and UCSD waitlist, so if we accept this waitlist and later got confirmation from some other college, can we still accept that offer or which ever waitlist we accept will be the final one.</p>
<p>My son was accepted off the waitlist today. He originally applied to Chemical Engineering and he was admitted to UCI as undeclared. The financial aid is not as strong as where he SIR’d to, which is UCD and that is a factor we have to consider as well as the undeclared admittance. He has until May 13 to decide to accept admission to UCI. </p>

<p>Being undeclared as a freshman is not that big of a deal, if anything it may be in the best interest of their college career! You can’t start major course work until late sophomore or even junior year so focus on GEs and make sure your major is the right one for you. Enjoy the fact that you got into your UC of choice and keep up a good GPA! (: </p>
<p>I wouldn’t do undeclared/undecided if your son wants to do Computer Engineering. This is from their site…Note that students interested in the Computer Science and Engineering degree program are strongly encouraged to start as a CSE major at the time they enter UCI, as the major is highly structured.
