So i see that there is no 200-word essay to write like UCSD or UCD waitlist... How does UCI determine who to accept from the waitlist (if they even decide to let anyone in)?

I have the same question. I wonder if it is first come first serve, the order you waitlist or if there is another way they are listing the students, like per college, etc.

@liveonboca @uvminhcire You can, as with any other UC appeal your being waitlisted or rejected.

I got wait listed at UCSB and UCI (my top two choices) and I’m going to still appeal to both. Good luck to everyone on the wait list! :)

How does one go about an appeal anyhow? Is there a format or anything?

I’m pretty sure we can’t appeal while we’re on the wait list.

If we are to do so, we must wait until we officially get rejected… And I’m nearly entirely certain that grades cannot be included on the appeal, since UCs don’t factor senior year grades in.

Just my two cents. Feel free to correct me, if I am mistaken.

I read that you can indeed appeal whether you have been waitlisted or rejected. I just don’t know what I’d write other than the fact that my sat newest scores may have not been included in the review process (I called to check on them around the end of january and the guy was like “whoops there you go, your scores are in now”)

newest sat*

Are you sure that what you read was for UC Irvine?

Because I know that for UC Riverside, you cannot send an appeal, if you’re on the wait list, until after you have been rejected because we have not received an “official decision” yet…

And, to answer your question. I believe that you should include any possible awards that you have received or anything else of merit that you did not put on your application…

Hmm i should probably recheck! Thanks^

No problem! :)

Anyone know the waitlist history for the UCs? Like whether or not they have admitted in the past years? I know irvine didnt admit last year and DID admit 2 years ago

Anyone get wait listed at more than one UC? I got wait listed by UCSB and UCI (my top choices). I also got accepted to UCSC and rejected from Davis. I’m really nervous, and i honestly don’t know how I’m going to deal with the anxiety of the last month for another month and a half x_x

I got waitlisted to UCI, UCSD, and UCD.

I just got wait listed at UC Irvine which is my top choice. And I got rejected at my second choice, Santa Clara University. At least you’ve got hope for your second choice, @Tspeed14 ! All I know is that for the next month and a half, I’m going to needs lots of chocolate and tissue boxes. >.>"

Oh and I need to somehow figure out which school I’m going to SIR at while we’re all waiting on UCI…

@CurlyCuriosity I’ve been accepted to CSU Fullerton, CSU Long Beadh, SFSU, SDSU, and UCSC. I’m gonna SIR at Long Beach but if I got into either UCSB or UCI I’d attend the one I got accepted off the Waitlist to.

@Tspeed14 Ah well, I’ve been hearing great things about CSU Long Beach, mainly about the speech team, location, etc. Seems like an excellent choice. :)

I’ve been accepted to UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly SLO, and Menlo College. Still waiting on University of Southern California.

Before I make any decision on where I am going to SIR, I need to see financial aid packages.

But if I were to be accepted off the waitlist for UCI, chances are, I’d go! I really fell in love with UCI.

I am deeply hoping a 2012 incident happens again so UCI accepts everyone from the waitlist! It would make a lot us wait list-ers very happy.

@CurlyCuriosity Yeah the Speech team at Long Beach is one of my main motivations. I’m an avid high school Speech and Debater. It’s the best program I’ve ever been involved in. But yeah, I’d definitely accept UCI I taken off the wait list. The campus and location is just beautiful. I fell in love with it after visiting.

@Tspeed14 I am currently laughing because I just realized who you are. xD I can’t believe I didn’t notice because of your username. Oh my, I’m so slow.

And I’m glad you have somewhere you’d be happy going regardless of our impending outcomes. You deserve it.

@CurlyCuriosity HAHAHA
