UCL vs Edinburgh vs Brown University

Hello, I’m deciding between University of Edinburgh, Brown University (in the US) and UCL. I’d be studying biological sciences at all three of them (molecular biology). I’m an international student from Europe btw (not the UK).

1. Education wise, which university is better for undergraduate study in the biological sciences? UCL is in the top 10 in all rankings for my major whereas Brown is hardly in the first 100 (but those are for graduate programs so I’m not sure how much I should look into them), Edinburgh is OK I guess.

2. How comparable are the research opportunities between Providence (where Brown is), Edinburgh and London or simply between the three universities? Obviously London is a humongous city with myriad companies that I’m interested in so I’m sure I’d have the least trouble finding opportunities. But what about Edinburgh?

3. Could you compare the overall vibes of UCL and Edinburgh? I haven’t been able to visit the places. What about the cities?

Thanks a million! It’s more than OK if you just compare two of them say UCL and Edinburgh.

Are you EU?, if so it will make a significant cost diff between Edinburgh and UCL, both are international research powerhouses. My preference would be Edinburgh over London, much smaller easier to get around and more of a student experience, but then that is me.

If you’re European living in Europe, Edinburgh would be tuition-free (SAAS scholarship). Great city despite horrible weather :), top-notch academics, flexible degree system.
Brown is Ivy league and anyone who thinks they’re not strong in the sciences doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Brown is also premed heaven due to nice grade inflation. They have no core curriculum, meaning you can take classes in everything that interests you, and obviously you get the “Ivy league network”, support for summer research position and terrific residential life. How much would it cost - did you get a significant scholarship?
UCL is better for graduate studies.
