I also visited the scholarships office on Friday, May 17th. I spoke to a lady there and they said that the decisions would be “out some time next week”. Not very specific, but at least it’s something.

Also, the decision will come out on both snail mail and email.

To wait this long is extremely rude, extremely inconsiderate of those who won’t even be getting it. I guess it’s too much to hope that they’d work over the weekend on it…

Also telling us it’ll be out “sometime next week” isn’t much consolation since they already told us they’d have it done around the 15th and that turned out to be completely untrue. Why should we suddenly believe them this time? For all we know it’ll be out the week SIRs are due.

I’m over it a little. Visited Cal this weekend - I think I’ll SIR there by Tuesday regardless of whether Regents decisions come out before then. UCLA is an awesome school though

If you intend to SIR to Cal, you should do so as soon as possible and SIR-decline UCLA, so that they don’t ‘waste’ a potential Regents Scholarship spot on you. Both are excellent schools, but if that is your intention you should act now before decisions are out.

If you don’t SIR-decline, UCLA won’t know about your SIR-accept to another school until much later. As for the Regents, the website states that they give ‘up to’ 100 per year. It’s not clear whether or not if you get it and SIR elsewhere whether or not that award is given to someone else. This is the reason for my previous posting.

If you have made up your mind as to where to go to school, you should SIR-decline everywhere else. This will allow those schools to potentially offer your spot to a wait-listed student, or in this case, offer a scholarship to someone who actually wants to attend that school.

Ok, I let my brother know. He is going to UCSD and already SIRed there. I told him if he cares about me at all, he should SIR-decline UCLA haha.
