UCLA Achievement Award Scholarship

I just got it and I have a 4.0 as well. I was planning on going to Berkeley, but now that UCLA is letting me go for free, ($30k as well), I don’t know what to do. It was $9200 per year.

should I call financial aid? I dont see it on my ePal

You should get an email saying your ePal is updated, and it does show on your financial aid ePal thing right away. If you got the email, but ePal isn’t updated, you gotta do something about it.

never got an email :'(

Oh well, at least I am a Bruin

But anyways, on a good note
I found a private parking space at that address which charges 100 bucks per month.

I already submitted my SIR to UCB and declined UCLA but they still sent this to me…I wish I would’ve known about this beforehand…ugh, is there anything I can do now to take advantage of this?

Brian, you can probably reclaim your admission. I turned down UCI and they allowed me to change my mind. Give UCLA a call.

I got it, but gift aid was higher for Cal so I SIR’d there

It would have been nice to get that email before I was dead-set emotionally on Berkeley.

Maybe they strategically planned and timed the release of the emails to mess with people undecided between UCLA and Cal.

I also got the scholarship for 9200 with my 4.0 GPA :D

I think my EFC is too high to get this… oh well as Pinoiako said at least I still get to be a Bruin!

just wondering how many people get this scholarship without a 4.0 GPA.
It seems everybody gets it with a 4.0

I got $9200 for a 4.0. However, now my twin brother is throwing it in my face because the next day he received the award in the mail also for $9200 and only has a 3.64. Curses…

Did anyone here who has a 4.0 NOT get this scholarship? A friend of mine has a 4.0 and got in for biz econ and she wasn’t awarded this scholarship… It doesn’t make sense :/

@IndieRockNRoll: I have a feeling it has more to do with financial need then JUST GPA. Most people seem to be getting gift aid of 9200 which fills there entire need, I need 14000 to meet my net cost so my guess is that this Scholarship is only for people with high gpa’s and highest need.

UCIhopeful–your brother recerived it in mail? is it basically the same thing?
Are there any other people get it through the mail?

Got the scholarship, ~9.2k/year for 2 years. Practically a free ride, I’d only be paying ~3k a year including living expenses. 4.0 cumulative transfer GPA.

SIR’d to UCSD, where I’ll be paying ~15k/year.

:D

Yea we both got some fancy certificates with the UCLA symbol and everything that my smarty pants brother misplaced. It makes it feel like you’ve won something for doing nothing.

haha… I got the fancy certificate, too.
