UCLA admissions

I've heard a lot of times UCLA's admissions is quite weird, sometimes rejecting a lot of strong students while taking the weaker ones. I heard it was addressed in TIMES a couple times or something, is it true?

Well, they do give preference to Ca residents(hence the C in UCLA) and that can lead to better students getting rejected. You can find information on exactly how they process apps at there wesbite.

No college purposely sets out to take "weaker" students. I think it's fairer to say they merely have a different definition of "strong."

Well, two girls at my school both applied at UCLA, and they're both equally strong in academics, ec's ,sats, etc. they both got accepted to CAL but i dont get why one got into UCLA and the other didn't. so that's weird, but also i didn't get into UCDavis but this girl at a high school in the "ghetto" got in, when i have more ec's than her, a higher sat score. i think the UC system is ridiculous.

^ I have a lot of choice words to say to you, but that might get me banned for one more day, so I'll to keep it neat and civil.

You don't deserve to go to UCDavis. You should be grateful to get in wherever else you may have wormed into. Your comment on how a girl in the "ghetto" got in over you when you have more EC's and higher SAT score is something I could not answer back over a thousand profanities and words. I don't want to get in a rant, but I want you to think about how selfish your comment was.
