UCLA AP Chem credit? (College of Letters and Science)

Hey guys, does anyone know how useful AP chem credit is for UCLA? I looked on their website and it translates to 8 of units and depending on your score it gives credit for intro or gen chem, does that mean you wouldn’t have to take those classes? And if I’m planning on majoring in chemistry, would it be better to take general chem anyway? Thanks

@beemo If you are planning to go into a healthcare field (i.e. premed) you must take all your required chemistry courses at the college level because your AP chem will not be accepted to meet that requirement. My D is a freshman this year and even the Chem 14A was difficult for the AP Chem students.

Thank you @citybus  I’m not planning on doing premed, but do you know if normal chem majors would have to take it at the college level too?
