UCLA Appeal 2021

How long can the letter of appeal be?

I would keep it maximum one page, double spaced.

@gumbymom why double spaced? I thought letters are single spaced. Do you also happen to have any idea who I am supposed to address it to?

I would probably wait until the appeal link is available for UCLA on April 1. Double spaced because you do not want to write a novel. You want to keep it short and to the point. Admissions does not want to wade through pages of text. They want you to spell out the reason for your appeal and provide documentation to back up your claims.

@Gumbymom I have another question. My SAT score is 1140(new) and 1560(old) and my ACT is 24. If you convert the scores, my ACT score is higher, but not by much, 1180(new) and 1640(old).

Is it worth mentioning my ACT score then?

You could mention the ACT, but I do not see the score helping your chances. You would also have to send an official copy if you want admissions to consider it as part of your appeal.

I just sent my appeal to UCB and I mentioned my senior year grades in my letter. My senior year grades are NOT the basis for my appeal, but I briefly mentioned them because they have improved my GPA quite significantly. Should I send Berkeley my transcript so that they can consider these grades as part of my appeal? or do they just go by the honor system?
