UCLA Appeal Help

i appealed to ucla and i was wondering will they reply by may 1 since may 1 is the deadline for all the uc's to sign the SIR and housing ...

if they reply after may 1, either way i'm screwed ... i would have already sent my SIR and housing ...

so is ucla and other uc's going to reply to your appeal by may 1?
i heard someone from another forum say may 2 which is too late

I think it depends on when you sent in your appeal. The UCLA website says they generally take 3 weeks to respond. I think they're going to respond on their website because I appealed and when I log into their admissions decisions i see....

Dear DJdooey:

We have received your letter asking that we reconsider our admission decision for Fall Quarter 2005. We are in the process of reviewing your record again.

If your name and contact information listed above is incorrect, please notify us.

UCLA Undergraduate Admissions
and Relations with Schools

but they said the deadline is april 15, so what if u mailed it april 14, that means u won't hear their reply until around may 3-4 ....

thats screwed up already since u have to submit ur SIR by may 1

Yeah, i guess its just your fault if you decide to appeal late and they dont respond to you in time. Because UCLA did post their admissions decisions VERY early compared to UCSD and Cal.

umm ... that is not the reason why they stated
"Send us a letter requesting that we reconsider your application. The letter must come from you (the applicant), and be postmarked no later than Friday, April 15, 2005."

"It is our usual practice to respond to appeals within three (3) weeks of the date we receive them. However, we cannot guarantee a response by May 1, the date by which many institutions require their applicants to make a commitment. We encourage applicants to consider all of their educational options. "

That is basically the answer to your original question.
