UCLA Band

My band director is good friends with the UCLA marching band director. I really wanted to go there but i got rejected. I told my band teacher this and he said he can write a letter to him stating that I should be in their band. I got a reply back from the band director at UCLA saying all the stuff I need to do for appeals such as making a video of me playing a song on video and other important info. I am dedicated to music and band so that's no problem.

Do you think this will work?
If I get into their band, that also means that i'm admitted into the university as well right?

ya, you would be attending ucla

yes it should work.

and you have really nice hook ups, thank you band teacher like 10000000 times

yeah this should work, very nice connections.

Thank you so much. 1 last question.

I applied as a Civil Engineering major, so would there be any probs? Like I would be able to get into the engineering department right? I know band is a time consuming activity, but that's what college is for...learning to manage your time wisely.

I was a civil engineering major and drum major of the Rice MOB.

Most members of the Rice band end up having pretty flexible schedules, but being DM was a full-time job. It's all about time management. Choose your courses carefully, keep your eyes open for conflicts. There's always someone who's in the band in most departments, so it's been done before. Be diligent, but don't worry too much about it.
