UCLA Business Economics (B.A.) admissions process

I’m reading about the Business Econ major on the UCLA site. Will a student who completes the pre-requisite courses and meets or exceeds the required GPA/grades be automatically admitted when applying? Or, must the student also apply and be part of a very competitive applicant pool similar to the process for a Haas or other undergraduate business school that does not have a pre-admit option?

I realize this is not a undergraduate business school, but words like, “You must be in good standing at UCLA at the time you apply in order to be considered for admission” make me wonder about the admissions process.

Also, if you happen to know, is this major impacted/overcrowded? Is it difficult to get into these econ classes?

Thank you.

For the UCLA bus. econ., the GPA requirement is not as high as for Haas, which is around 3.6 to 3.7 for UC Berkeley applicants. I believe the GPA for UCLA applicants to the UCLA bus. econ. program is around 3.3.

@UCBUSCalum don’t think that’s correct https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major
