UCLA CLASS OF 2021 APPLICANT THREAD

I got accepted! I feel so thankful and blessed oh my gosh!!

SAT: 1280/1600
GPA: 4.7 weighted, 3.98 unweighted, 4.25 UC GPA (I think, I might’ve calculated it wrong)
Major: Molecular Biology
Race: Asian
I got the Alumni scholarship invite. However one of my cousins got it as well and got waitlisted!
hope this helps

Decision: Accepted

ACT 30 GPA (unweighted): 3.85 out of 4.0 with AP and Honors classes (not sure what weighted GPA is). Top 10% of class in private prep school.
Key was very strong extracurriculars with multiple leadership roles including national delegate rep stuff and employment though high school, plus Varsity athletics and national competitions. Also volunteered as School Admissions Tour Guide from 6th grade onwards and promoted to Student Tour leader in 11th grade. Volunteered as TA for an immersion language program for several years. Lots of stuff like that. Still…am shocked.

So far have been admitted to almost all schools applied to (with exception of Stanford–ha!–duh!) and received some really great merit awards. Waiting on Dartmouth, Smith, Claremont McKenna, American U etc. Got into Michigan, USan Diego (Presidential merit award); URichmond (Presidential Merit Award); Colorado State ($Merit); and UC Boulder (Honors Program + aid).

I am so honored to be accepted to UCLA. This may change everything!

@tacimaci can you give stats please :stuck_out_tongue: it’s because the majority of the people here applied engineering or sciences. Thanks gurl and congrats!

Didn’t get in :frowning:
Had some hope after getting into UCSD and UC Davis.

Could someone tell me more about appealing decisions? @Gumbymom

Hi guys, I just got admitted to the Class of 2021 as a CS major.
I’m an international admit, and I was wondering whether I will receive an acceptance packet from UCLA?
UCLA’s site seems to indicate they do, but do any of you know for sure?
If yes, how much time would it take to receive one?

Why are so many statistically qualified applicants getting wait-listed or rejected from UCLA engineering? It’s very odd.

If I got into UCLA (with invitation for alumni scholarship, no supplemental request) what are my chances for Berkeley (no rec requested)? My UC GPA is really low though… 3.6 excluding additional weighting for AP courses. I think it’s in the ballpark of a 3.8 including APs. I’m OOS for UCB L&S, with a 36 ACT with pretty good ECs and essays.

good luck

Accepted. I’m an international student and I personally know 15 other students from my city that got accepted, which is unusually high. Thought UCLA might have been a bit more lenient this year but this thread makes me think otherwise. They rejected some very fine students. Wishing you all USC and Cal acceptances no matter the odds!
