UCLA CLASS OF 2021 APPLICANT THREAD

how many ppl get waitlisted/how likely is it to get off the waitlist?

@iluvpups99 A lot!! But a lot of people will go to Ivy’s or other top schools so there is a huge chance to get in UCLA if you are waitlisted

I’ve been searching a little on the internet, but I have not been able to find any statistics about the UCLA waitlist. I’m wondering if anyone has found them (if they are published on the internet at all).

@Helium9: cannot find waitlist stats for 2016, but here are 2015 and 2014:

2015:
Just < 6,000 offers 3,400 opt-ins
500 admits
360 SIRs

2014:
3,700 offers
2,100 opt-ins
150 admits
(120 CA; 30 OOS)

Waitlisted at UCLA, but accepted at Northwestern!!! Congrats everyone who was accepted!!!

@lanabanana99 congrats!! that gives me hope  i got waitlisted at UCLA; do you think i still have a shot at cornell?

I was denied application from UCLA, but put on the waitlist. . . Does that mean my chances for Berkeley are about the same? I saw that UCLA got a record breaking 102k applicants while Berkeley only got 85?

@jlevi22 I’m on the same boat as you are! I think Cal is higher (not sure) because they have less applicants and are more holistic (from what I hear). I’ve also ready that kids rejected/waitlisted from UCLA still got into Cal! So I’m hoping that happens to me too! (Not getting my hopes up too high though)

*read not ready

@Scholar526 From what I’ve been frantically researching and reading this morning, there are a lot of people in our boats, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see (hopefully before I pull all my hair out in angst). . .

@Scholar526 @jlevi22 I got a regents invitation for berkeley but got waitlisted at UCLA (I got the alumni scholarship invitation), so it’s fair game.

@wormholes You do have a chance, but in the end I think it just comes down to luck.

I got the alumni scholarship invite from UCLA too, but no regents for Berkeley. . . UCB is my dream school, and I’m out of state, so you know, just hanging out on the edge here :-c

@lanabanana99 thanks for letting us know! Definitely helps (and gives me some hope).
