Perhaps when UCSD comes out they’ll post here.
Did any other engineering students get this email? Can I take this to be a likely letter?
Dear [Name],
The purpose of this letter is to make you aware of an important event for applicants interested in learning more about the wonderful educational experience the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (HSSEAS) and UCLA have to offer.
We have received your application to UCLA’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science and I want to commend you on your fine work in high school. Please note that admission decisions have not been finalized and will be available in late March at www.admission.ucla.edu/decision. You will receive an email from Undergraduate Admission when decisions are available online.
I cordially invite you and your family to save the date of Sunday April 9, 2017 for our Discover UCLA Engineering program. Our agenda is designed to provide valuable information about HSSEAS and to answer any questions you may have about being a Bruin Engineer. Learn about the School as Dean Murthy and the Department chairs introduce our academic programs at the 9:00 a.m. General Session in Royce Hall. Then immerse yourself in department-specific sessions that showcase their unique strengths and opportunities in academics and research. Enjoy lunch while informally meeting the world-class engineering students, faculty, alumni, academic counselors, and staff in your department and discover firsthand the community you will join at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Please visit our website www.seasoasa.ucla.edu/discover for further information about the agenda, travel information, and the School. We will notify you once registration is available, in late March. Questions may be directed to the Office of Academic and Student Affairs via email at UCLAEngrOpenHouse@seas.ucla.edu.
I hope that you will join us at our Discover UCLA Engineering program on Sunday, April 9.
@dewrrrett I got it as well–it certainly seems like one. I assume I’m a likely candidate for UCLA (got UCB Regents interview, although not UCLA), so maybe it does mean we got in.
@dewrrrett I was offered the regents scholarship application and received that e-mail as well, so maybe there is a correlation?
@SchoolFreakLol yeah I’m sure my counselor made sure of that by sending a school report or something. I know kids in my school who got in last year with just their honors courses and another kid got into Berkeley with his honors courses. I would’ve taken the ACT, but I don’t work/do well on timed tests, especially one like the ACT.
I got the email as well! Definitely sounds like a likely letter to me.
My daughter got the same letter today and it’s silimar to the ones she got from UCSD and Cal Pomona - admitted to both. Just an observation.
It is a likely letter. Everyone knows that and everybody who got the scholarships is in. Congrats!!!
I got the likely letter as well! I really hope this means an acceptance!!
I received it too! I’ve also received the invitation to apply for Alumni Scholarship earlier too.
Excited then. And glad this doesn’t coincide with ROHP for Cal xD
what time do you think admissions will come out next friday?
I got the email too. Got something similar from UCSD and was admitted there so maybe this means something!
Damn I didn’t didnt recieve that. Still hoping for the best.
@mario1999 are you an engineering major?
Is a 1390/1600 a good SAT score?
@“Wilt Chamberlain” It’s a bit on the lower side for UCLA standards
@“Wilt Chamberlain” The average on the new SAT for UCLA is 1370
How is it on the lower side when it is higher than the average SAT (1370) for UCLA?
I would think the average would be higher- more in the 1400s.
