@Faultystart Sorry if I come off as harsh, but the question still seems pretty basic…He’s just asking if it’s good. And I’m wondering how anyone could still question if a anything above a 4.0 is good or not. If anything, my harshness is a compliment lol I’m clearly jealous. So realize you’re in a far better academic situation than the majority of applicants; The question is pointless.
@WiltChamberlain
I don’t mean to belittle you or anything. It’s good. Idk what your chance would be for UCLA tho.
@zoeeeeeee101 where did they post that?
@potato16 the ucla admissions twitter account. Someone asked earlier this week when they would be up and they replied late March. Then the person asked if there was a specific date yet. Today they replied “yes. March 17th”
@zoeeeeeee101 thanks!
Used that UC GPA calculator app. Said I have a weighted 4.26, weighted and capped 4.22 and an unweighted 3.87.
Interesting. Is it accurate?? My weighted for school is 3.9. UW- 3.8. Interesting.
^^ I also didn’t include senior courses in that. Just sophomore / junior years.
International applicant here…
Just got the Engineering Open House letter, which apparently isn’t sent out to everyone? Has anyone ever seen someone get this letter and then get rejected by UCLA?
@nduclaunc if you’re talking about the one on RogerHub, then yes, it’s accurate.
@wilt_chamberlain i got an open house letter with a 4.1 so i think ur fine bro
@gureum thanks. Wow just very hard for me to believe. 3.9/3.8 W & UW gpa by my schools standards, and top 11% of my class but I have a 4.2 technical “UC” gpa … glad. Hopefully that’s accurate. I did have a crappy freshman year sophomore / junior year. Maybe that contributed.
@nduclaunc did your school not give you any credit for all your AP classes (looks like you did at least 6 semesters?) or is the school calculating your total W and UW GPA for 9/10/11 grade?
The UCLA Admissions twitter account has confirmed that next Friday evening, March 17th, decisions will be released!
@dogrunner1 my school calculates 9/10/11.
Upward trend in GPA:
9- 3.6
10- 3.8
11- 4.2
12 (so far) - 4.44
However my school gpa has not calculated entire senior year yet. Just 9-11, and first semester of 12th and I have around a 3.9 W, 3.85 UW.
@nduclaunc the UC system does work in some people’s favor that way if they had a tough Freshman year which a lot of people do.
Where on twitter are people seeing that UCLA has announced the 17th? On twitter just a few hours ago, official Ucla account just said “later this month”.
@kibbles Someone on some UC thread (I don’t remember which one) posted the twitter post by UCLA showing they would release decisions on the 17th. Some people on this thread also heard from officials and undergrads at UCLA about this.
Also, most times, UCLA releases decisions about a week after UCSD and since UCSD (and UC Davis) released today, UCLA will almost definitely come out on the 17th.
Berkeley is expected on the 30th, UCI is currently rolling I believe, and I’m not sure about the others.

Okay probably a stupid question, but how much harder is it to get into UCLA than UCSD? I got into UCSD, which actually makes me believe I may have even a little chance at UCLA.
Thank you @potato16 !
