@mgb1311 oos only your aps count as honors, your actual honors dont. But anyway, getting asked for thosesupplement items are a sign that you are borderline, regents typically means very high chance of acceptance, and alumni means based off stats alone youre toward the top of the applicant pool, but doesnt consider ecs. In all honesty from what ive gathered in this thread, nothing youve stated is a bad sign, but youre not a for sure admit.
@mgb1311 forgot to say, confirmed results this friday, march 17. 8pm est, 5pm whatever time zone california is, and if youre somewhere in the middle u gotta do that conversion on your own
I just realized that I received two emails about Alumni Scholarships, back in February but I didn’t apply because I thought I had to be a legacy student (a parent who attended UCLA) to be eligible. Is that going to be a ding on me? Also, does receiving the email about alumni scholarships mean that my application is being considered more highly? I didn’t get a likely letter yet. I’m applying for applied math & econ. Thanks for any info.
@greeksalad123 Not applying for the alumni scholarship won’t hurt you, it’s optional and getting the invite just means you have higher stats than other applicants and you are a more favorable applicant, but it’s not a for sure acceptance
UCLA and Berkeley unfortunately do not consider demonstrated interest, or legacy status.
can someone please post a link to somewhere where it says decisions will be posted on the 17th? i can’t believe it til i see it and don’t want to get too excited
This is me being nervous lmao but the UC’s were/are supposed to have a bigger focus on accepting in-state people this year right?
@thenewstyped They always admit more in state people than oos and international. Last year it was 59.4% in-state.
Anyone else applying to the Human Biology & Society major? I applied to it and it seems pretty interesting with a little bit of both humanities and science but I can’t seem to find too much about it online from students since it’s pretty new
@GoldfishFlying I applied to Human Bio and Society! It looks like a really cool major. I was looking at some of the pre-major course requirements and they include a really good blend of humanities and sciences. One of the coolest courses that can be used to fulfill pre-reqs for the major Gen Ed course is called Sex: From Biology to Gendered Society. I’m allowing myself to get too pumped for UCLA before decisions have even come out…it’s super cool to see someone else who is also applying for this major.
@northwest22 @10s4life Just to let you know, they added an optional housing tour to the Engineering Open House in the afternoon so that people would be able to see the housing even if they couldn’t make it to Bruin Day.
@SillyJillie423 I applied to the human bio and society major too!! I’m hoping it’s not too competitive but it probably will be, since it’s a pre-med major.
anyone a psychobiology major?
I didn’t receive any email about regents or applying for alumni scholarship. I got accepted to UCI CHP, UCSD, and UCSB (found out after attending Chancellor’s Reception today). should I be worried? LA is my top choice and the only college I have yet to hear from.
anyone on here a astrophysics major? Does anyone really know if that is impacted? I read somewhere that it is
@gureum u will be fine then
Mine psychobiology
@os2017 Wait you’re the person from the UCSD thread who was waitlisted for Human Bio! We have like the same scores and I was waitlisted too at UCSD…and now we’re applying to the same major at UCLA lmao. I wish us both the best of luck
@10s4life I got the supplemental questionnaire and the email for UCLA alumni scholarship. Good or bad news? (4.3 gpa and 30 ACT)
