@meddude101 Hey, don’t fret. UCLA is an amazing school, but its test averages and whatnot are a lot lower than WashU’s. You can do it!
I’m hella discouraged. UCLA is probably my #1 but I just got rejected by NEU today. Not feeling confident at all but it would be blessing to get accepted though.
@422525 i’ve heard that a TON of well-qualified applicants were rejected by neu–don’t lose hope!
@Faultystart Is NEU Notheastern?
@lanabanana99 yup
@meddude101 I also got into UCSD and rejected from WashU. I wouldn’t look too much into it though. WashU got crazy hard this year, and they didn’t even require essays, so they care more about things like demonstrated interest, legacy, urm status. So keep your hopes up, I’m sure we both still have a chance :).
some of the smartest people I know were rejected from WashU so I wouldn’t read into it too much lmao. I’ve gotten likelies from UCLA and Cornell I was waitlisted there… (& I think someone else on the Cornell thread said they were rejected from WashU.)
Does UCLA look at your major to accept you or?
@akizaka46 They accept you to the college you applied to like Letters and Sciences
Good luck to everyone! The countdown to Friday has begun! Bask in the moment!
2 days guys!!
Good luck!
@tem339 @JuicyMango Sweet it’s nice to know that we’re all in the same boat! Hoping for the best and who knows we might end up being Bruins next year
I would just like to add that I too got into UCSD but was rejected from WashU today. It’s comforting to see all the encouragement on this thread. I just would like to add and say that many accepted applicants had lower stats while the rejected had higher stats. TBH whatever they were looking for seemed a bit backwards so I just want to spread positivity and say that college decisions are completely random. My first rejection came today and it was rough but I know there are still great colleges, such as UCLA, ahead. You all are truly amazing people so please don’t lose hope or get down because a room full of middle-aged admissions officers did not see that. Good luck to you all! I cannot wait until Friday!
gahhhh friday is so close yet so far away
Does anyone have any tips for opening decisions? I’d love to get in and go to UCLA, but I know that if I don’t in the end it’ll all be okay. What’s being most stressful right now is the anticipation leading up to friday.
@tem339 just open it like you would rip off a bandaid. the pain should subside eventually (?)
@tem339 Rip it off like a band-aid. Don’t make it more important than it is. You will succeed and thrive with or without UCLA. Of course, it would be nice to get in, but at the end of the day, what you do in college is much more important than where you end up going. Sometimes I too get caught up in brand names, but I would rather achieve something substantial than get the approval of strangers in a board room.
Can someone send a screenshot of the engineering likely letter that they received from UCLA? Or let me know what the subject of the email is?
I actually started to dream about UCB and UCLA admissions. Extremely restless. Ugh, the wait!!!
