UCLA CLASS OF 2021 APPLICANT THREAD

If I got both the alumni and regents scholarship invitations, are my chances relatively higher? Or is there no correlation between admission and these scholarships?

@Shotellgan There is a correlation. Basically if you received those invites, you probably have high stats. If you have high stats, you have a higher chance of getting in. There is a correlation, but a correlation does not imply causation.

@tem339

This person’s reply sums it all up. But, as always, somebody else is going to ask the same questions in a few hours.

What are the conditions to not get rescinded? I remember reading that you have to have a 3.0 unweighted with only 1 or less C. But now I’m trying to find it again and I don’t see the thing about having only 1 C…?

@sadsenior:
For the past several years, the provisional admission contract stated a 3.0 unweighted GPA with no more than 2 C’s Senior year.

@vasodys hmm then RIP me. I thought my stats were pretty good. I guess they don’t take subject tests into account and stuff.

good luck to everyone tomorrow!!

If you have 3 Cs and above a 3.0 unweighted GPA will your admission be rescinded?

@lily_rose2017. If you get more than 2 C’s, then you need to contact UCLA admissions. It is up to admissions on how they will handle your situation.

Someone earlier said they received supplementals…what does that mean? And for film majors were there any emails/letters sent to top applicants for them? I guess I should say any indicators? Funny my son handles the wait so differently than I do…buries himself in work and keeping busy…and I am on the chats trying to get as much info as possible!!!

Hey guys… this is prob extra but there is a ucla group me chat that you guys are free to join if you wanna just stress or give advice! https://app.■■■■■■■■■■■/join_group/29732198/KbY5Ft

-99.92 weighted average

-accepted to umich, accepted to UCSB/sent a letter inviting me to a reception honoring top applicants, uc berkeley asked me to send letters of rec.
thank you and again good luck to everyone tomorrow, i wish you all the best!!!

@Runningpanda18 dumb q, but is it for applicants in general?

@boymom16 I’ve been lurking here a while lol. Supplementals, as the term is being used on this board, I believe refers to requests for supplemental information from some applicants. The prevailing thought is that if you are a borderline applicant they may want more information to determine if you would be a good fit and thus request supplemental info. The other issue discussed is the alumni scholarship invite which, historically, has been an indication that an applicant has good stats. Hope this helps and good luck, everyone.

Would it hurt my chances if I applied as a biomed engineering major yet anthropology was my alternate? Do I still have a chance of getting in based on anthro?

Does anyone know what time they are releasing the information?

UCLA has been my dream school since forever, but after today I’m like 100% sure I’m not getting in. I just got rejected from Florida State today, which came as a shock bc my stats were pretty good and I’m a legacy. Also for UCLA I’m an OOS applicant, so basically at this point just waiting on my rejection letter so I can pay my dues to St. John’s in NY :’) Good Luck to everyone though!

I received a UCSB chancellor’s reception invite (top 15% of applicants) and was also accepted to UC Davis and UCSD – does this put me in a good place for UCLA or is that impossible to say?

@xxMemesxx I’m pretty sure they are releasing them at 5pm PST tomorrow.
