*****UCLA Class of 2022 Accepted Students Thread*****

Hey everyone! I noticed there isn’t an official facebook page for UCLA Class of 2022 (there’s one run by students but I was worried about how legit it is) so I thought I’d start a discussion on here in case anyone wanted a place to ask questions about the university, post their stats for students next year, and meet new people! My name is Emma and I just got accepted yesterday! I’m out of state from Virginia and my major is Pre-mathematics. I’m still waiting to hear from other schools before I make a decision but UCLA is one of my top choices. I can’t wait to meet you guys!

so how am i going to pay for this, lol

^^^^

i know!!! they gave me an out of state grant for like 10,000 which is great and all but that’s still like 45,000 a year idk what i’m gonna do

@emmajac how do you know if you are awarded this?

@neuroman it said on my financial aid award which i could see when i went to the accepted students checklist

When do the Alumni Scholarships decisions come out?

not sure i heard interviews are at the very end of march?

I am having trouble viewing my financial aid because it says I have no MyUCLA access? I have my 9 digit ID but I don’t know where to put it in.

@hbee456 , if you received your decision through email, on the admission letter towards the bottom is a link to their “New Bruins” site, where it will direct you through the process. One of the first steps is activating your UCLA logon ID, which you can do from there using your 9-digit code. Hope this helps.

Do you guys know how likely it is to get a double room instead of a triple this year? I much prefer the double option due to the fact that I hate having a top-bunk bed.

Hi Emma! My name is Melissa and I also just got got accepted as a Pre-Mathematics major! I’m from Pennsylvania and I have also been accepted at McGill University. I’m also waiting for a decision from UMich, so I’d love to get people’s input about the pros and cons of my top three schools. Congrats everyone!

For OOS people, how much of an out of state grant were you guys given? I was wondering, as it says in my estimate that they would give me A LOT more grant money than I had expected.

Other than that, nice to meet you guys, I was accepted as a pre-econ major

How is someone applicable for an out of state grant? I’m out of state but don’t see anything about a grant… maybe my stats weren’t strong enough or is it something you apply for through FAFSA?

@smitchell I looked on their website after i posted this, and it says grants are given based on demonstrated need. Maybe it says I am expected to be given some because my expected family contribution is 0…?

@Wuggawoo Very unlikely to impossible. I’m pretty sure our class, 2021, took all the doubles. Unless you have some extenuating circumstances to be in a single, you have to be in a triple. But you can always work out something with your roommates to get the bottom bunk!

Can someone explain North vs South campus… I am a Biology major so which side would I spend my time in? College of Letters and Sciences

On my Provisional Award Letter (PAL), it does not mention Regents at all. However, I just received a phone call from my Regents mentor notifying me about my Regents Scholarship. I’m a little confused. Any thoughts?

@neuroman North campus are humanities/social science majors while physical sciences and engineering are South Campus. Because UCLA has too many room issues, you’ll be going from different classes in the North and South Campus (location wise) but as you take your upper divs, you’ll tend to stay within North Campus if you’re humanities/social science or South.

Does anyone have any updates on the UCLA Alumni scholarship?
