*****UCLA Class of 2022 Accepted Students Thread*****

@acaibowllover Beginnjng with the class of 2021 last year, all freshman are placed in triples.

Hey guys! I have a question. Right when I received my admission I had to report changes to my academic information on the UCLA portal since I had dropped A-level Chemistry and my AP Physics and Chemistry due to clashes with my A-level examinations. Additionally, I had reported a change from Calculus AB to Calculus BC, and they said that the changes may affect my admission. I have applied with 4 A*s as my predicted A-level grades and overall have a good application (I assume), do you think that there’s a chance of me losing my admission? If so, how rare/ common is it?

@Abelo999 hi hopefully you’re not hearing this all over again, but to be honest there could be a chance of UCLA revoking your admission. they do not like to see you dropping an AP class or even an honors class. however, your case is very unique as you’re still talking pretty advanced courses so i would genuinely just call up admissions and explain your case to them.

for anyone wondering, acceptance packets should be arriving within the next week or so. it depends where you’re living but they’re coming!

@gyrase777 You forgot to mention the difference in weather, LOL! South Bend winters are brutal and LA, well, not so much ; ) So depending on where you are coming from, the winter can be very long in South Bend. As someone from east coast who went to Purdue, I can tell you it was very hard to get out of bed and walk to campus for those 7am lab classes when it was 10 degrees outside! I might also point out that they both have strong alumni networks across the country.

I am working on an appeal to UCLA. Does anyone know how to submit it?

@whyisthereno3 check here: http://www.admission.ucla.edu/AppealsFr.htm

just received my admissions package in the mail (i live 20 minutes away from UCLA for reference) so everyone should be getting their package very soon!

Hey Bruins! I’m having a bit of a trouble here on finding how much I’m supposed to pay for 2018-2019…where am I supposed to go after I enter the application portal? Is it not up yet? I know the admission website has like the estimate of my one year tuition + other expenses, but I was wondering if there’s one in my account (cuz everyone’s situation is different). Although I lived in US for almost 10 years I’m still considered as an international student due to visa problems; maybe that’s why I can’t find one, cuz international students don’t get financial aid?

D received her admission packet today - NorCal! We are all so excited to have her join the Bruin family :smiley:

i received mine today all the way in virginia so hopefully they’re coming soon for the rest of you guys!

@abell73 log into your portal, and once you log in you’re obviously going to see your letter of acceptance. on the side there’s a bunch of different options for you to click on. you select the option that says “your next steps”. once there, you select “admitted students checklist”. after that you’re going to be directed to a new page, select “view your financial aid/scholarship information”, there you will be able to view how much aid you were given and how much you will need to pay.

@stevienickana that’s weird! I don’t see any statements or numbers for my page…I had to apply as international student so I couldn’t fill out FAFSA and CA DREAM Act. I’m going to call the financial aid office lol thanks so much though!

hello, i’m ellie. any art history majors out there?

Just received the update from UCLA, and I’m still admitted! However, I will be heading off to UC Berkeley… regardless, congratulations to everyone who got in to UCLA!
