UCLA Class of 2022 - Applicant Thread

On mine it said yesterday Major: Cognitive Sciences

Gone here too and it was there before

Mine’s gone too and was there yesterday

None of you applied into a major unless you applied to a professional school. For L&S you are admitted to the school as a whole.

Has anyone heard when admission decisions will come out? Now that the scholarship deadline was extended by 3 weeks, I’m wondering if decisions will be later than last year.

^^

@10s4life for purpose of the UC App you select a major and it shows on your portal (until now) as something like Pre-business for my DD. And then yes you have to declare it/apply when enrolled. For my DS now in second year at UCLA it showed college of engineering and EE in his portal 2 years ago.

I doubt they will move decisions from late March knowing that students need time to make decisions. That’s one thing I don’t think they’ll move.

@meb1meb1 Yep that’s correct. I was just trying to say that the major disappearing is nothing to read into.

I think everyone just tends to overthink minor changes in the portals of their schools as they anxiously await magic signs to indicate their future. Totally natural but probably just normal portal update as we get closer.

@10s4life Hi, does UCLA give early admission notice like Berkeley or SB?

@Lotus321 Engineering sends out invites about a week before decisions come out for Discover UCLA Engineering. Those invites go out to about the top 20% of admits. That’s the only one I know of that comes out early from UCLA.

A admissions rep came to my school and told me that UCLA decisions come out on March 28th or something like that.

@youcee Thanks.

@Lotus123 Should be the third Friday in March

Hi, I haven’t read this whole thread, but am I correct in surmising that the UCLA regents invite has NOT come out yet?

@CalBearsMom Yes you are correct.

Does this mean UCLA will send out Regents with admission decisions and we shouldn’t expect to see them early? I asked their admissions office and thats what they seemed to imply. Does not look like it has ever been done that way in the past.

Do you think applying for the Alumni Scholarship will help out with our admissions? I know I’m not in their top 5% of applicants, but I’m looking for any way I can help myself out with admissions

@imwiththeband99 The Scholarship is separate and has no effect on your admissions.
