@10s4life Another joker! Everyone should always be leery of the first or second post people making spectacular claims. :smiley:

@10s4life I just realized that I failed to report that I took a one-semester health class in the summer of 10th grade on my UC app. Am I screwed? Does it even count on my GPA?

@Sk0975 I’d take @10s4life’s advice and contact admissions immediately. It would suck to get admitted and then get it rescinded because you forgot to let them know about something. I could just be overacting, but I’d say that it’s worth letting them know.

@Sk0975 i’m pretty sure health is like PE when it comes to the uc app– it isn’t an a-g course and therefore doesn’t count towards the uc gpa and doesn’t necessarily need to be inputted anyway.

@Sk0975 Health isn’t A-G but it’s still worth reporting. Remember the worse thing you can do is not report

They Definitely take a Holistic approach - but your application must be very well rounded and show many aspects of the type of student they are looking for. with a history Leadership, empathy, passion, etc - and your application must paint a clear picture of who you are all tied together with strong essays. Don’t give up hope.

@10s4life where do I report the change?

@Sk0975:
If there are changes to your academic record…

Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.

If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. Although you must notify the campus of these changes, we cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.

Email: docs@applyUCsupport.net

Postal mail:

UC Application Center
P.O. Box 1432
Bakersfield, CA 93302

I would also email each UC school admission directly since decisions are out for some or in process of coming out shortly.

@Sk0975 Gumbymom covered it all. Do this asap

Thank you guys so much!

Since you guys are basically my life counselors at this point, I could use some guidance on what to do with these two options. I tried calling the office of undergrad admissions today twice and didn’t get through either time because of apparent busy lines, but the second time it left a message saying they would not be accepting any changes to academic history at this point because of how late in the deciding process it is. I did not know of my withdrawal from AP Micro any earlier than this week, because it’s a Florida Virtual School class that I can be dropped from at any time, otherwise I would have contacted them sooner. So the way I see it is I have two options: I could send them an email in Gumbymom’s format and just explain the situation to them and hope they don’t see it as irresponsible or negatively impactful to my chances of admission (Dream School/will dig a hole and live there forever if I don’t get in), or I could wait to see if I get in and try to start over in the class and just not sleep the entire month of April and do the entire class in a month. Second option would destroy me, but I will do anything to avoid damaging my chances of going to UCLA. Desperately need opinions or advice on what to do. Thanks for your help so much!!

@ucla9biggestab Try calling around 10am that’s a non busy time. They take a lunch break from 12-1:30. You should send an email. The earlier you document and show you had a change the better.

@ucla9biggestab Go ahead and send the update following the info Gumbymom provided. What happens with it, happens. You just need to do your part. Whether or not they include it in their decision making goes back in their court. You need to report it, though.

@10s4life @dowzerw well it looks like I’m screwed cause I went to the link in the portal to report changes to my information to the school and all options are available to be selected except “Freshmen student updates to coursework (no longer being accepted at this time)” is unable to be selected.

@ucla9biggestab

Tough call. Last year, I know UCI was very strict about its conditions. Students were rescinded for what would be considered minor inconsistencies years before. This was because UCI ended up with too many acceptances and they needed to reduce the numbers. 500 rescind notices went out at the the end of July last year. UCI received a lot of criticism and did eventually take back some of students.

If you get in and plan to not take the class, I’ve heard it’s much better to be upfront versus just sending your transcript.

@ucla9biggestab Don’t panic. Just send an update via their email address for updates or to their admissions dept.

For those of you that don’t know, UC Davis decisions were released this afternoon. You can expect Ucla decisions next Friday around 5pm. Hope everything is going well with everyone! Once you have all your decisions start to make plans to attend admitted student days or tour the campuses. UCLA offers general campus tours, housing tours, and Engineering Tours. You can also try the dining halls by purchasing a ticket at any res hall front desk on your visit.

@10s4life Not to get unnecessarily sappy, but thanks for all the help and tips that you’ve given throughout this entire process. It’s REALLY put my mind at ease :slight_smile: And yay next Friday!!!
