UCLA Class of 2022 - Applicant Thread

@shirrupmaple Hopefully all goes well, good luck to you as well

When does the decisions come out?

@emilylokelani123 Very likely Friday :slight_smile:

Can someone chance me? I’m very nervous and UCLA is my top choice.

I applied for Pre-Business Economics and Pre-Economics

Rank: top 9% of my high school (ELC recipient) and Valedictorian
SAT: 1260 w/ essay score of 21/24 (yes this is my very weak spot I’m not a good test taker)
AP: 8 taken
Weighted GPA: 4.3 (not sure if it’s higher or how UC calculates GPA but my transcript says this)
Cumulative GPA: 3.933
-President of community service club (100+ hours of service) & member for three years
-currently a restaraunt manager/shift leader (have had 3 previous jobs)
-CY soccer first two years until sports injury preventing me from playing junior/senior year + had to get a surgery for my tumor
-Only girl to take an extra Entrepreneurship elective junior year
-AP scholar w/ honors
-Started my own pet care business my freshmen year
-One year of student government

-Took Spanish II and III in 7th & 8th grade

I forgot to add two courses to my submitted application but contacted admissions directly through email and UC docs email back around Jan. 1 so hopefully they hadn’t made a decision on me yet.

Essays about losing my house, creating prototype application/my job for creativity, community service impact, and the protest at my school (our school was the one with the girl who got beat up made Daily News after trump election)

So far-
accepted to University of Washington, Loyola Marymount, and Chapman

rejected from Cal Poly Slo

(Not sure if these have any correlation to UC’s)

when will discover engineering emails come out

I went to a UCLA event and I could’ve sworn the rep told us decisions would be sent out the last Friday in March

@letmeinpls1233 We don’t anounce not disclose when discover engineering emails will come out. I imagine it will be before discover Engineering day which is April 15th

@cgccgirl In such a public space, it would be unwise to give out an earlier date just in case something didn’t work out. They very likely just didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up by giving a sooner date. And if they needed more time to get decisions out, they would be able to use it without tons of angry phone calls and emails.

Someone please chance me!!
I’ll keep it short for y’alls sake
OOS
3.91 unweighted gpa
1390 one sitting SAT
Graduated high school a year early, volunteered a year abroad
President of ASB, cheer captain, president of French club and GSA, human rights rally speaker
Language honor chord, top 10% of my class, US Air Force STEM award, lots of honors and AP classes, finished all the math offered at my school by 10th grade so no “senior math”

@stevensonjj0 is correct. Ucla won’t release the actual date. The general time frame is mid to late March though. Decisions will be released before an email update is sent to avoid attracting too much attention.

Are my chances slim to none?
Class rank 17/250
UW GPA 3.85
SAT 1200
Nursing major
OOS

@kaelen Did you do the nursing supplemental application? If the answer is yes then it will be hard to get in. If the answer is no then it will be next to impossible to get in

.

.

@badsuns I don’t chance. And no one really can. My rule of thumb is if you are above the 75th percentile of admits stats then you can be confident you are likely to get in. Otherwise it can go anyway. I answered the above poster because applicants who don’t do the nursing supplemental don’t get in. Good luck!

.

thank you!

1200 SAT, 4.27 WGPA, Television/Media major. Any chance at all?

What are the 75th percentile stats? Is it different for OOS?
