Its like people don’t know how to read a clock. :!!
The portals are “unavailable” this does not mean they’ve crashed. It means they’re getting ready to release decisions. (The crashing will happen later today - right around 5pm LOL)
@Lotus321 Second hand info, but one of my husband’s coworkers reported his child was admitted about two weeks ago. Kid has won multiple national math competitions and is a truly wonderful human being. I don’t know how this notification happened, but I do think a very small group of students got some sort of early in as we have no reason to doubt this family. It’s not some 17 yr old causing drama as a joke.
With the highest number of applicants in the country, one would expect a little hiccup on the website come decision day.
It’s not a crash. Portals are taken down before decisions are released. Once released the portals will go back up. Best of luck to all the applicants.
How much does it help that I got ELC (top 9% of my high school class)?
@Lauris, what major did your daughter applied to @ SCU? What interests u about SCU? My DS was accepted for business at UCSC and SCU, in case all else fails, we’re trying to weigh which is better for business.
What time are they releasing decisions?
Any nursing majors here?***
@polololo For any UC outside of Merced elc has little effect.
SCU, did you mean Santa Clara University?
Sorry to hear that.
What are your daughter’s stats and ECs?
My son will be applying to Santa Clara this year as well, and I would like to find out a bit more about it.
Dumb question… what is SCU? Santa Clara?
My S was sent application for merit scholarship - assume this is also a ‘likely letter’! Perhaps this was your friends situation too
@divarose Thanks. The student we know who got in UCLA early is one of the top students, too.
@mgeronimo I’m nursing but not expecting to get in…this was an extreme reach school for me, although I’m in top 9% of my class
I assume SCU is Santa Clara. Their admissions standards have gone way up recently. Unfortunately, SCU is ridiculously expensive and stingy on financial aid compared to a lot of other CA privates. (That is based on what others have posted and personal experience.)
@BrKmNk Twitter link for reply from @ uclaadmission twitter regarding admission release date/time:
“Hi there! We anticipate releasing admission decisions today, March 16 after 5pm Pacific Time. Follow our social channels for further updates!”
@10s4life really? I read somewhere that 86% of their admitted in-state students were ELC recipients. Hm, maybe I’m wrong then. Well
@polololo It has little to no effect because almost all the applicants and admits are elc to begin with. Therefore it’s not a differentiating factor. There are so many elc students that are denied. In fact most of them are.
To clarify it is confirmed UCLA is coming out today, but no other UC is confirmed for today right it is speculation?
