UCLA Class of 2022 - Applicant Thread

Such a joke…we have to be put through all this stress to GIVE THEM MONEY and go deep in debt.

@10s4life - my kid did the math with the 6,000 as the acceptance. Still hard to believe a 1510 SAT in state NMF gets rejected.

Accepted!!!
Major: Biology
SAT: 1360
U.C. GPA: 4.5
Essays: A solid 9/10

S18 (4.0UW, 1540 SAT, PoliSci) and D18 (4.0UW, 35 ACT, EnvSci) both accepted, in-state. Anyone heard about Regents?

How many people are usually accepted off the waitlist? I just got waitlisted…

I got in!! For Materials Science in the school of engineering! I thought I was stupid for applying an impacted major at the most applied uc but it worked out! That was super unexpected im so happy i was in tear for a good five minutes

Accepted!

I honestly didn’t expect to get in and 100% expected that I’d get rejected so I’m not that sad! And knowing that they got over 113,000 applications and only accepted 6,000 makes me feel a little better! Good luck everyone! Congrats if you got in, and if you didn’t, I guarantee that you’ll find a school that’ll capture your heart

Rejected!! But I’m not even mad lol that was so expected
3.8 UC GPA, 4.06 weighted

Psychology

D was rejected for biomedical engineering. 1460/4.0 UW, NMF

UCLA was her top choice, but she got into UCSD so she’s happy.

Good luck to everyone!

@usma87 UCLA has a yield rate of about 33% or so. To get a freshman class size of just under 6k we need to accept roughly 3 times that much. Hence the 15% rate. Last year it was 1 percent higher. CS is very competitive at UCLA. Besides undeclared engineering it is the second toughest major to get into at HSSEAS. Last year undeclared had a single digit acceptance rate and the engineering school had just over an 11% acceptance rate.

Does anyone know how many people get in off the waitlist? I want to know if I have a chance

@davy901 There’s no bar. 1550 SAT and did not get in as an international.

ACCEPTED!!!

-OOS NJ Asian Male

-4.3 Weighted Regular GPA

-4.2 Weighted UC GPA

  • 1550 SAT 21 Essay (Single Sitting)
  • NMF

-Fairly strong EC’s, well-rounded, with a somewhat pre-med bent.

INSANELY surprised… numerous people from my school with much better GPA’s also applied… thought I had no chance, especially since I received minimal communication from UCLA, and my UC essays were average
