Reflection

Strengths: Strong focus on extracurricular activities related to major (mental health, community outreach, etc.), consistent involvement in community service, decent workload and performance on AP/SAT exams
Weaknesses: Relaxed senior year schedule, cheer involvement for only 1 year
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think I was waitlisted mostly because I didn’t have the supplemental SAT Subject tests nor retook the SAT more than once. I wanted to save my parents money and I thought my score was sufficient to get in. I don’t regret not taking those tests though. I shouldn’t have to pay to demonstrate my mastery to colleges. I also got a single B my freshman year, that may have had some effect if any.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted (Davis w/ Regents, Riverside w/ Chancellor’s, Cal State Fullerton, San Diego, Santa Barbara) Waiting for (Irvine, Berkeley, Irvine, Boston U, & Harvard)

General Comments: I’m a little disappointed I wasn’t admitted, but that’s ok. I know a college admissions doesn’t define me and I’m just grateful to have a lot of other options for my new home for the next 4 hours. Congratulations to everyone who got admitted and for those that got waitlisted/rejected, be proud of your achievements for these past 4 years. High school may precede college, but it’s true purpose is to give us the basic foundation of education to prepare us for the adult world and pursue whatever we truly want. A college not accepting us won’t make us any less of people/less capable of doing that. Good luck and Godspeed.
