SAT: 1550

APs: two 4s and four 5s
TOEFL:106
Duolingo:96
Pretty good ECs and essays
Accepted by: UMich, UW-Madison, Purdue
Waiting for: UCB, Columbia

As an international student, it’s already harder for us to get into top ranking colleges, but don’t give up. I actually graduated from high school last year but I got rejected by all US colleges I applied to. I decided to give it another try and turns out even though colleges don’t really like prospective students who have been out of school for a year but just keep on doing good strong EC activities and you will still get chances to pursue your dreams!

I got an email from UCLA a couple of weeks ago asking me to do another language test called Duolingo probably because I have a decent general TOEFL score but actually my speaking score doesn’t meet the requirements. Don’t worry about it if they ask you to do the test, don’t take unnecessary lessons, don’t over search online. It’s fairly simple compared to Toefl. Just do a couple practices on the website and you’ll be fine.

Waitlisted!
College of Letters and Science- Anthropology

30 ACT with a 10 in writing
4 in APUSH, 5 in AP Euro, 5 in AP Lit
Decent ECS (Academic Decathlon, ASB, Art, 100 service hours, no work experience)

First gen college student
I’ve been admitted to UCSB, UCSD, Cal Poly SLO, and the SDSU Honors college. I’m torn as to whether or not I should accept the waitlist spot or just enroll at another school.
So proud of everyone for getting this far! I hope everyone finds a great fit next year, and congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!
