UCLA Class of 2027 Official Thread

It went away late yesterday afternoon. It happened the past few years a few days to a week before decisions were released. It’s most likely a sign that they’re loading decisions into the portal.

Went away from where? Status portal doesn’t have it - you mean from UC application?

Yes. UCLA applicant portal is not displaying the applied major anymore.

Is the major not showing up on the portal an indication that decisions will be coming out this Friday? Or should we just not read too much into it.

Yes, that’s definitely what it means.

Hello
Where do you see the major tab.
We only got a email initially that our application was submitted and we can login via applicant id and other details on a page which just states that they received our application.
Where to check all other information?

The major used to be listed under the email address under the name/address block on the main status page, but it has been removed for everyone now.

Based on UCLA’s email, decisions will be released “late March.” So, is it possible it will be next Friday the 24th rather than this Friday?

UC Regents has capped the # of enrolled OOS and International students to 18% for all campuses so 82% of the spots for California residents. Several campuses have been higher than the 18% prior to this decision including UCLA, so UCLA is slowly reducing the # of OOS/International and admitted/enrolling more CA residents.

Last year’s enrolled numbers show 77% CA residents enrolled, 16% OOS and 7% International. The lowest % of CA residents enrolled at UCLA was in 2021 at 69% probably due to Covid issues and GAP year applicants.

I honestly kind of hope so. It’s a lot to get three in one day!

Hi @mimariego. Which email mentioned “late March”? Missed it.

Correction, not email, but the letter on the portal when you login.

We are happy to have received your application for Fall Quarter 2023 admission to UCLA!

Over the next few months we will be busy reviewing freshman applications. If, during the course of our review, we find that we need any additional information, we will contact you by e-mail. We plan to release admission decisions in late March.

In the meantime, please visit our where you will find more information on the application process. Please feel free to if you have any questions.

Did the students receive their login and password to the portal to find out their decisions?

It is not really a student portal like some of the UC’s. Here is the link to setup: UCLA myApplication Status

yes

They didn’t send a login and password. They sent a link to the portal and you sign in with your UC Application ID, last name, birthday, and city of birth. Everyone I know found the email in their spam though so that might be why you don’t have it. If you follow the link Gumbymom gave you will be able to login with your UC Application ID.
