So I have applied to UCLA as a poli sci major and I TAP'd (back up major is Classical Civilization). I have said many times that if I were to only get in as a classical civ major, I would not go to UCLA because I really want poli sci and I just put classical civ as a place holder. Not that classical civ doesn't interest me but I want to make money after I graduate haha.
Anyway, someone told me that you can do costume majors at UCLA once you transfer, building a major that specifically fits what you want so that I could have a major that would get me the equivalent of being a poli sci major at UCLA along with some classical civ classes. This just seems to good to be true, there has to be a catch right? Does anyone know more details about this? Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone waiting to hear back! THE WAIT IS KILLING ME haha

Costume or custom?

Omg how embarrassing haha i meant CUSTOM. Just had an all nighter, I can’t spell right now haha

Not mean to put you down or anything but what makes you think you’re going to make money with a poly-sci degree vs a classical civilization degree?

Well strictly speaking I guess NO major is guaranteed to get me money but I want to go to law school later in life and eventually go into politics and I feel that a degree in political science will look better in terms of relevance and how well it will prepare me than one in classical civilization. That and it sounds more bada** haha

Well said!

OP you are so stoopid

Sounds like you want Interdisciplinary Studies. Unfortunately UCLA doesnt have any such. (Only Cal does) Im sure you can double / triple (?) major. You can always try to announce a second major so it looks better for law school / prepares you better for law school.
